- WOW! The Sarasota Shell Club is a well known club in the shelling world, and you're about to see why! Incredible selection of shells for purchase to craft or collect, absolutely amazing artwork, and top scientific exhibits to teach folks about what is available in our area and beyond!
This show has a bit of something for everyone! And the artisans spent 1000s of hours throughout the year creating amazing pieces to sell at our annual show too. The work we do not only helps support the club, but also the Carefree Learner program, which takes folks out on Sarasota Bay to teach them all about our marine ecosystem & wildlife in this area!

they have them all over the place down here - Us here in Sarasota, and Sanibel yes... but St Pete is on their 75th and i think that's this weekend - Jacksonville & Melbourne too, & down near Miami - so there are a few to check into and see if any coincide with your travel plans ;) it was fun at ours - and i even met the lady who purchased my Fort Myers shadow box from Sharmon's auction, which was pretty cool! plus there's so much to learn and so many shells from other parts of the world i will never visit so, overall its pretty neat!
I love all your videos!! I have a question for you I know you have a handicap placard, is parking free with the placard or plates at the beaches in Florida? Gonna come down to shell soon and I just can't find the answer Thank you so much
well actually that really more depends on what county you are in and if you are at a city county or state park...
for example, i have parked at places in Sanibel and St Pete where i do not have to pay in county parks or beaches like Sunset, PAG, Fort Desoto, but end up having to park other places like in clearwater for example. Ybor City, near Tampa, is one of those places i have to pay all the time HC placard or not.
SO while I have not had to pay at certain beaches i do at others. And the only way you can tell is if you see signs for Park Mobile and then you see if the spaces are numbered. wish i had a better answer!
