The 1-2 punch of back to back Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton devastated the Bradenton and Sarasota area beaches & communities. How can we tell what things used to look like?
By comparing older footage to now...Today we take a look at Lido Key from North to South Beach, Longboat Key with a focus on Gulfside Drive Area, and Bradenton Beach from Cortez to Coquina. I have previous footage from before these storms included, so that you have a visual reference for what you are seeing. You need that frame of reference ... The damage is staggering. The clean up has started. Will Florida be able to bounce back from one of its costliest most devastating hurricane events in history?
We will see buildings that the ocean blew right through. stripped Beaches. Mountains of sand and debris everywhere. And we will look at the damage from the Gulf side of things for a full 360 effect on what happened.
My home sustained damage too - and altho I still have a place to live, it will take thousands od dollars to fix it up. When you're disabled and on fixed income, even a small sounding amount seems like mount everest.
