Indians made war and lost. I don't understand why the modern position ignores that fact. Most Indian tribes fought among each other for hundreds, if not thousands, of years prior to the arrival of Europeans. Physical conquest was the way obtain land among the tribes, same as it was in Europe. If you cannot beat the neighbor, the neighbor takes your land...that model continues today.

I love the way you explain things. You would make an absolute great college history professor. I never learned anything like this in high school, but when I got to college I fell in love with history because I had a professor that had a similar teaching style as you. She led me to get a history degree just because her stories made me want to get out of the bed in the morning. Before I knew it, I had taken enough of her classes to get an additional degree. Andrew Jackson was definitely a power hungry evil man. I've read so many books on this man and it is so clear the one thing that fueled him was power.

Jackson highly believed in being partisan and uniting the parties. That was the goal of putting this painting up. People are like “Trump is a racist! “ But when asked, not a soul can quote his “racist” words. No one. And no, he never claimed to hate people from Mexico and Central America. He wanted people to come here the right way. There are so many people in the process (waiting in line) to come to this country. How horrible is it that people discard those who are trying to become United States citizens and who’ve waited YEARS to get here and bring their families? And he hated MS-13 gang members. During his presidency, the African American people (me) had the lowest unemployment numbers in history. I don’t think he’s what you think he is. But hey, people are entitled to their own opinions. I just gave facts that can be researched. They’re out there if you feel up to looking. I live in Gary, Indiana and I can say my community hasn’t seen so many new jobs come along since the steel mills crashed. After the mills shut down, my daddy had a hard time finding work and feeding us. 45 was able to get Amazon brought to Gary/Merrillville. He created more jobs than we’ve ever had since the 1970’s. You may not feel the same but my family is blessed with new opportunities. I voted for Obama and he did nothing fit my community. Nothing. Where I live, 61st and Broadway had mew businesses coming in and those who wanted the opportunity to have better lives toon those jobs. Those who didn’t, are still on the streets making my community unsafe. My family of lifelong Democrats thank 45. I was able to get off food stand and assistance. I was able to change schools for my children. We are better off.

On May 28, 1830, during his first term, Indian Removal Act signed by President Jackson. Congress authorizes funds for removal treaties to be negotiated with Indian tribes living east of the Mississippi River.
In 1831, CHOCTAW Indian removal from traditional homelands.
In Nov1832 Jackson is re-elected as President of the U.S.
On Jan 1,1835 National debt extinguished (No other president has done this!)
On Mar 4, 1837 Martin Van Buren inaugurated as the 8th President of the U.S.
      Economic Panic of 1837 begins.
1838 Cherokee forced removal begins. TRAIL OF TEARS. Van Buren actually orders this after Jackson laid the ground work. Jackson is blamed specifically for the TRAIL OF TEARS, but Van Buren could have stopped it and didn't because it gave the impression that he was trying to stop, or distract from the Economic panic.

Hey there! I'm Creek and thought I'd give some info:
Creek, Mvskoke, Muscogee, or Muskogee is actually the name of our nation, and we have smaller tribes within it. So for example, I'm from the Mvskoke Nation, Poarch Band (my tribe) and the Wind Clan or Hotvlkvlke.
Creeks and Red Sticks are the same thing technically, because back in those days, our different towns were either considered "peace towns" or italwalgi (which were in charge of general governance) aka White Sticks and "war towns" or kipayalki (which were responsible for police-esque and wartime duties) aka Red Sticks. Most white stick towns were located farther south while Red Stick Towns could usually be found farther north. Because italwalgis were closer to the coast where colonizers first made contact, the people of peace towns started accepting + implementing those ways of life, whereas kipayalkis wanted to keep separate from the white people and preserve their traditional culture, tension was created when we started losing our culture. Fun fact: towns could "swap" status and become their opposite if needed.
The war and fighting you talked about was probably fought between either the Red Sticks and the white people/militia in the area (since their aversion to each other created wariness + tension) or Red Sticks from one town and other Natives (since italwalgis and kipayalkis never fought each other as a general rule).
"Creek" is actually the name white people called us when they found us settled along the waterways. Mvskoke/Maskoki (same pronunciation but different spelling) is what we call ourselves. Muskogee and Muscogee are the English spellings. I don't mind being called Creek because it's what all the white people I grew up with called me, but some from my nation do prefer to be called Mvskoke.
Thank you for using your platform to give a little spotlight to the Mvskoke people as we really need it right now since our language is nearly extinct and we're doing major work right now to teach new speakers. If our language dies, a part of our culture dies, and so a part of our people would die. Educating people that we still exist really helps, especially since so many are reconnecting these days! Keep up the great work, Bailey! Love your videos sm. Mvto (thank you)!
