@@Infernos94 imo the problem lies in slow motion replay. Sitting on our ass in a calm environment with three slo mo angles of a play makes anyone a good official. These guys get one shot that happens super fast in a much more intense environment. Plus, they actually know the rules. There are many quirks that ppl don’t know about and it causes controversies that are completely unnecessary. No one recognized good calls either. They make a thousand correct and get one wrong. But like everyone, they’re human too. They’ll make mistakes and this was a mistake. It doesn’t mean they’re bad refs. They just made a bad call. Same thing can be said for a good player misplaying. Big difference.

I can understand the player calling for a fair catch and the ref not seeing it, but for the ref to see something that was clearly not there, is not really excusable.
You can't see the rest of the receiving team, but if ANYONE makes the signal, it applies to who catches the kick even though he didn't signal. I'm not saying that happened, but it's a possibility. The other option is the BJ screwed up

Still a bad call. He's clearly moving his arms back and forth as he walks and his hand doesn't get higher than his shoulder. The refs say that the ruling on the field was that he made a "cradle signal." It is pretty clear he was not intending to make a fair catch and all of the other players on the field understood that too
Frogs are lucky their ass-kicking shoes were on tight, and these kind of blown calls (of which there were several in the first half, all against them) didn't change the game. Sonny Dykes was probably as hoarse as Coach Patterson usually gets on a normal coaching day, all the yelling he was doing at the refs. They got jobbed a couple of times against SMU the week before, but that didn't matter either.
The ncaa and nfl and nba need to start holding these refs accountable for everything. Bad calls like this, either fire them or fine them just like everyone else‼️‼️ they’ll learn soon enough
I seen a lot Of plays TCU got away with so maybe a makeup call? Holding, which was several times, late hit out of bounds, 2 of those actually, chop block.. I call it like I see it, idc who’s playing! They only got 2 calls that was necessary for them to call because it happened right in front of them so they couldn’t ignore those: The taunting and the target call.. But just because the guy who caught the ball (punt returner) didn’t call Fair Catch doesn’t mean another TCU player didn’t.
The refs have been dead wrong on literally every single call. They’ve missed three penalties against Oklahoma. They’re doing everything they can to help them win. Even though I like Brent Venables, this is bullshit.
