Selfishly as a fan (been watching since i was 15/16 and im now 30)id love to see my boy Colin M be a father. Seeing him and Micha into a new arc so to speak as content ages with his fans. But i know my opinion does not matter in this big subject.
I love that Micah brought up the PS5 controller size! I hattte it it’s so uncomfortable for me but I love PlayStation. I rarely hear this validated. I do love the 3rd party pdp victrix, but is is not as good as the Xbox controller. 😢
Micah, I really vibe with you on the getting a desk job milestone. I worked retail/facilities for the first 4-5 years of my working life. And getting a job where I could sit all day, was incredible lol. People should not make light of that.
It's great until it isn't. I worked hard manual labor for a long time. Eventually got a desk job and even worked up to managing an office. In the end I hated it and I am out of the industry I was in entirely. Sitting all day at a computer and then using more screens after work just gets bad for me.
There is no time in my life I wished for a single second to be behind a desk. As a fly fishing guide and charter owner, I can’t imagine a worse fate than desk work.
The news just came out about Xbox shutting down studios and the baffling decision to shut down Tango gameworks. Can't wait to see colin shit all over Phil next week. Where are those people who were championing acquisitions ?

Micah, the logical reason for having kids is for when YOU get old. For example, my girl’s dad had a rly bad stroke a couple years ago. He can hardly talk, can’t walk, etc. He also had no money to his name and he’s divorced. He’d be beyond screwed rn if not for my girl and her sister. They deal with all his appointments, they got him in a home, they’ve moved him through multiple homes (cuz he gets thrown out for having really mean outbursts at staff - his mind isn’t working right anymore), etc. There’s SO MUCH paperwork and logistics and a million different complicated things that no one would handle for him if not for his kids. Granted, you and Colin aren’t gonna be broke when you get old, but it’s more than just a financial burden. And people could survive YEARS in an unwell state like that. My dad also would’ve been COMPLETELY screwed if not for my siblings, my mom, and I (and it’s just happenstance that my mom was well enough to deal with most of it before he died. We’re just lucky that she was younger-enough and healthy enough to deal with it. And he was sick for like 20 years! But when my mom starts getting unwell, she too would be completely SOL if not for her kids.
My wife and I decided years ago that we didn’t want children. Then she got pregnant, and it’s probably the greatest venture Ive ever taken. Especially now, he’s 16 and very clearly wants to follow me into my business (I own a fishing and hunting guiding and charter business), while also watching(and financially supporting) his dream to be a professional tournament bass fisherman. Seeing how hard he works, being able to lighten the load a little, being successful enough to buy him a bass boat and truck so he can realistically chase that dream. Watching him win the high school state bass championships, already having a scholarship to fish in the national College tournament trail while just finishing grade 11, on top of working for me every summer, and staying consistently on the honor roll. All that to say kids can make you very, very proud.
Schaudenfreude is an unpleasant instinct i(in both directions) and I think Matty’s empathy towards individuals who clearly need some help with their mental health, is admirable.
My hands were also killing me with the PS5 with games who were going hard on the adaptive trigger. Reducing them fixed my problem. Don't know if it could help Micah.

I know some people enjoy Sea of Thieves but that isn't the same amazing Rare I grew up with in any way. It blew my mind when I seen so many people cheering for Xbox buying ABK and look at the state of things now.

If MS wanted to strengthen their xbox hardware they would have invested in hardware manufacturing. They invested in the largest game publisher, so it is clear they are moving to become a game publisher. Now, sure, their now gigantic develeopment/publishing arm might be willing to throw a bone here and there to their hardware division, but it's clear to me it's not going to be a focus unless the hardware division can come with a huge unprecedented miracle in the following years.

Not to the extreme of hating other systems but in enthusiasm and getting the console first. 360 was so damn good and as a 8 year old and that was my first console I fell in love with the brand. Ever since the Xbox one it’s been down hill ever since. I got my One and series X first in every console gen but eventually got the ps4 and then ps5 and when I did those became my most played console. Now other then for Starfield and Madden I barely touch my Xbox anymore and it’s either my ps5 or rog ally I play the most. With the news today with the shuttering of some good studios I’m falling more out of love from Xbox and honestly don’t want my console anymore kinda thinking of selling it and then buying a cheap Xbox one x to play all my old one and 360 games I have. I’ve also buy physical games all the time for my switch and PS5/4 and the last Xbox game I bought was gears 5 and red dead 2 so yea I don’t buy on their platform either game pass for everything…….
