I was at my cousins house as a teen and her boyfriend came through and played this joint on a cassette. I said Wtf is this!? I never heard such rawness on gritty hard drums like that. When he told me, I immediately hopped in my car and went to get it from a record store. Yes a record store right before they started disappearing. 😁

"I don't gang bang or shoot out, bang, bang
The relentless lyrics, the only dope I slang
I'm a true master, you can check my credentials
'Cause I choose to use my infinite potential

King Ahmad, you NEVER cease to amaze me my guy! You know how I know you're a True Hip Hop head? You're a young Kat from this generation BUT yet you STILL seem to catch & understand older references from older generations. You know your history, you're aware, you learn & you pay attention! Not that you don't make a few mistakes here & there but that's a part of your growth & training in this Hip Hop knowledge. Unlike other young Kats, YOU ARE Humble & you seem to always learn from your mistakes. You are a worthy student of the culture. You may even fall under the category of a great young scholar. I admire you King. This is a great channel & platform you got here Brotha. You're paying your dues & earning your respect my G! Also, I'm not gonna lie to you but I think you're beyond what I was as a Hip hop head when I was your age. Your awareness, wisdom & knowledge at your age is impressive. You're about in the 24-29 age bracket right Ahmad? How old are you again my guy? I think I remember you saying it in a vid or live stream but I forgot. My Bad. Anyway, keep doing what you're doing King. You a real one Ahmad! Peace. ✌️🕊️

I didn't know at the time where the loop was from but recently I found out that it was "Shelly Manne" "Infinity" and the little snippet that DJ Primier used from "Infinity" is only 4 seconds😲 "Infinity" is only about 40 seconds fully but I will never know how Premier pulled it off but I know at the time just before Jeru dropped his first solo album this "Come Clean" was getting crazy airplay on the radio and everybody was playing that one single. That loop that DJ premier created is timeless😁 It's always 🔥🔥🔥

To sum it up Jeur's style is just so fresh and refreshing at the same time. With the perfect match of musical complexity in the ryhmes as you can find in the music. ------ I've listened to Jeru's first 3 album over 100 times each and they always seem fresh to me and I hear new things that I never heard before. ------ Qudos to any artist who can create art and have it reverberate decades later. ------- Plus some of these songs were in video games. So they live on and on.

The Amazing this about Jeru is his unorthodox, measured flow, combined with unexpected word empahsis. ------- In combo with Primo's production was a fresh approach to the producer-rapper combo. -------- The style of Jeru being so unorthodox unleashed Primo's compelete arsenal of beats, samples, ideas. Which is what took Primo from just one in the pack of producers to the tip of the spear in terms of production. -------- Only RZA, Dr Dre, and Pete Rock can even approach his level ofmusial sophistication ------They all took hiphop to levels none of u could have forseen.
