Didn’t see anyone Mention it but Jeru came up from the legendary group Gang Starr and learned from Guru who is one of the Gods of rap. Which Dj Premier did produce for him as well. Differently listen to Jeru still till this day, I was teen when he came out. His history 101 is pretty knowledgeable
This song really was about the fake Gangsta rap that was going on at the time that dripping water sound in the beat along with the boom bap crested a classic shout out to Jeru for holding our borough down back in the day BROOKLYN
