    IMSA!! You absolutely must keep RLM on! John, Jeremy, Shea and team are the PERSONIFICATION of IMSA, without them IMSA just wouldn’t be the same!

    KEEP JOHN, JEREMY AND SHEA!!
    Won't be the same without them. Could hear it in John's voice. That wasn't a season end, "see ya next year" sign off. That was a permanent goodbye. 😢😢

      These broadcasts are taken directly from IMSA Radio and IMSA Official live streams. They're not the TV Network broadcasts. So they won't (SHOULDN'T) have commercials. You might have periods of no commentary, but the cameras are always on.

      I remember watching a petit Le Mans years ago on British TV. They had the American tv coverage but every time it went to commercials (which was a lot) two old British blokes would come on and talk till the American commentators came back.
      It as funny because there was a crash in the commercials and the British guys were like "Oh dear, looks like someone has gone off. Quite a nasty shunt there" Then the Americans came back with "WHILE YOU WERE GONE WE HAD A HUGE ACCIDENT!"

    i will be v v sad if no more Hindy or the entire Radio Le Mans crew. They are such a great broadcast team with Jeremy and Shea with him, and this IMSA season has been fantastic from start to finish. What an ending, all race long i had a feeling we were in for 1 final championship defining moment and we got it

    Observations of 2023
    1. GTP proved it was the top class with the amount of competition. Down to the wire final moments to decide the championship. Looking forward to the years to come with other manufactures.
    2. Cadillac made an impact. Winning the inaugural GTP championship. Also in FIA WEC 3rd in Hypercar at the 24hrs of Le mans.
    3. Ben Keating "The Gentlemen Driver" "The Super Bronze" won again another LMP2 title. Also the final FIA WEC GTEam class title for Corvette Racing.
    4. The Real Winner(s) of the year....Rexy and Roxy. T-rex Porsches won everyone's hearts.

    So that seemed like the perfect ending to the race given the earlier parts.
    Huge thank you to IMSA for putting on some of the best (maybe these 10 hours can be left out) racing out there in 2023.
    Also hope to hear John, Jeremy, Shea and Nick next year as they make the racing better in a way that few commentary teams have managed! Thanks so much for the enthusiasm and professionalism. :)

    I think one thing everyone missed about the 10/31 incident with an hour to go is the fact that the 31 hits the curb on the inside. If you watch the onboard at 4:16:50, you can clearly see the Cadillac hit the curb and bounce up into the Acura. The Acura was pinching really hard into the corner as well, which gave the 31 little room on the inside. I think the no penalty call from race control was a good call, as it was just a racing incident from my POV. The Acura left just enough room for the 31 to make it, but at the same time it was such a small hole that it left the 31 little to no room for error.

    I really hope one day IMSA will have separate FCY and SC procedures. Not every incident needs a SC, period. Really ruins the enduring part of endurance racing. Joe Bradley really nailed it by saying "9.5hrs of qualy, and a half hour sprint." What's the point of building a gap as a class leader if you'll just get penalized and the gap taken away with a SC. IMSA really needs a FCY procedure in which the field is neutralized on pit limiters without deploying the SC.

  • @Av3ntur0zky
    @Av3ntur0zky ปีที่แล้ว +7

    #31 car- Derani deserved at least a drive thru penalty after ruining #10 race, not only that also making sure that he took out the one that was going to win the championship pretty much. That was poor racing !

    • @ShelbyWithAShelby
      @ShelbyWithAShelby ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean, to be fair to Derani, they were both at the absolute limits of the cars coming into turn 1. I don't really think Derani had any traction left in that Cadillac to turn in harder to give Albuquerque more room. It looked like he had just a bit of understeer that pulled him wide into the side of the Acura. That's just how racing goes sometimes. Especially near the end and pushing the cars that hard

    • @GamezGuru1
      @GamezGuru1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not sure if it was intentional, but he technically didn't leave the space, whether he saw him or not.
      Also very risky by the #10, doesn't change how the rules should be applied though...
      Either way, championship did not end with that crash as commentator was screaming - #31 still had to finish 7th or higher I believe...

    • @Dral.09
      @Dral.09 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@GamezGuru1 The provoked crash wasn't intentional but the block out of time surely was!!
      Derani just wanted to block the pass but he should have done it way way earlier, not when the #10 is side but side or even a little in front.
      You believe a driver on a class that's all the time overtaking traffic with different lines couldn't close 1m of that trajectory? Through the race in many occasions cars side by side on this corner so the "just one line on that corner" is nonsense.
      I don't think "risky" is a good word, in close racing 50% or more of the times are risky overtakes and that's how are made great overtakes and pilots...

    honestly, while i can see the interpretation of many that the incident can be marked as a deliberate push, i can also see that it was just racing incident and that if the roles were reversed, the same thing would've played out. this is one of those moments where there may not be a clear right or wrong

  • @lonnieball3002
    @lonnieball3002 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Derani needs to be penalized badly. He did not leave racing room for the Acura ushering him off. BLACK FLAG IN MY OPINION FOR THE 31.

    • @rzaultra165
      @rzaultra165 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @Av3ntur0zky
      @Av3ntur0zky ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's unbelievable how some people think that no call for that move and even saying no penalty needed. #10 was alongside and a little ahead as well. # 31 knew he was about to lose his position and started pushing him wide and there was a slight touch so #10 went out of track. That's Not Racing at all !!

    And sorry about that finish under caution again please lower the car count that track is not Le Mans or Nurbergring it's just a track in America 10 hours of Prototypes next year a GT3 10 hours the next week at the time. Traffic accidents are too much for the entire event to have caution after caution again and again and again and again until there no green flag racing at the time. Fans came for racing not safety cars.😢😢😢😢😢. No offense if I offended others.😊😊

    On the whole I am less than impressed, The driving standards are appalling, Obviously the penalties affect the whole team whereas we are it is the drivers choice so it is them that should get the penalties by endorsements on their licences. Of course pit box mistakes are team penalties but just words from the top are definitely not enough. The commentary team need to have somebody watching the screen, they miss so many things that are obvious to those watching. Do the job correctly or step aside. None of it is acceptable to real race fans.

  • @donholl
    @donholl ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really love IMSA racing - both WeatherTech and Michelin Pilot (even more so), but I don't love this race - I don't even like it.
    Between the "super-sized" field; the (IMO, far too-)short circuit, for such a large number of cars (running at significant speed variances, no less); the length of the race, combined with little track lighting, for the end - it's just "too much". The resulting chaos shouldn't surprise anyone - the congestion makes it the "L.A. freeway at 5PM" of road racing.
    It is, in my opinion, a lousy way to end a season (and a marque I really dislike taking the top-level checkers this year made it worse: at least it wasn't the one of the two I dislike even more than the winner).
    MRRA is suited to daylight races of 4 hours, or less - and with much smaller (or category-split) fields in them.
