Hi, Roam 1 was installed via Delkin Fat Gecko Mini and Roam 2 via Delkin Fat Gecko Stealth. Fat Gecko Stealth is a bit more stable and doesn´t wobble that much as the Fat Gecko Mini.

Upgrading the firmware bricked my camera for a good 45 minutes. It would just scream at me beeping constantly if I hit the status button or record. Then it wouldn't re-connect to my computer (show up as a drive). I'd hold the reset button, that would allow it to reconnect to the computer but it would still misbehave. I formatted the card, and that was the answer. It is now working again, not sure if it works any better yet.
Obi wan, no, your roam does not need to be in fw 1.01 in order to be flashed to roam2's fw. Just make sure u rename roam2 fw into roam1's fw name and that will trick the cam into flashing. Remember to reformat the card after completing the flash and reset the cam.
One Question: After updating the Contour Roam firmware to v2.16, do I need to go back and delete the .bin file from the microSD care or change the .txt file back to "UPDATE_FW:N"?
does anyone know how to get back to the original FW? because now 2:16 with the txt file no longer has the words update_fw. I can no longer turn the camera records only to -90 °.

I didn´t mention anything. No overheating, battery is still lasting > 3h. And yes, it is that simple ;-)
Also, did you mount the original ROAM differently? The video on the left seems much more shaky ... Sorry to double comment BTW ..
Which camera did you update? Roam 1? Which firmware have you used for updating?

How did you make the Roam1 work with 2.16?
Ive tried but the camera light would blink if I try to record.
Does this have any adverse effect on the camera? Shorter battery life? Is it going to overheat? Certainly it can't be this simple? lol
Hey, I reformatted my SD card and it records using the Roam2 Firmware but the videos seem darker. Any idea why or how to fix it? Please help.

Just reformat your SD card and it will work fine.
Downgrade exactly as you updated. Edit the text file and add the old fw image to the storage. Rename the image to contourroam2.bin
