    These canopys cost about $1600 when buying from Alibaba, cheaper (and custom branded) when you buy quantity for the most modern model vehicles. But they take 40 days sea freight to arrive.
    Australian retailers are far too greedy. Trying to extract $500 - $1000 per sale. Write to the suppliers and complain. Aussie retailers need to focus on volume sales and happy customers. They think that its a once off sale... but its not. Customers that save momey on the canopy come fwd to buy more accessories and refer more customers too them. Greedy aussie retailers.

      basically all these steel and aluminum canopies are all made in China custom branded to your fav local brand.. and theres nothing wrong with that but they try to take far too much profit and some even try to claim their custom branded units are locally made BS.

    They are a good canopy for the price :). I recommend getting the tailgate seal kit too for your set-up too. Also try to get a raised airintake if you can if Ur going to be doing a lot of dusty driving. The Meredith one is good :)

      @griffinsgetaway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I agree, great for the price. Yes the tailgate seal would be a good idea, wish I had ordered one of those too. Unfortunately won't have enough time to wait for it to turn up before we head of again. And the raised intake is a good idea too, thanks for the tips!

    Basically a very close copy of the RSI and RLD canopies from South Africa. I have the RSI canopy on my MR Triton and I am very happy with it.

    Hi I think I saw a video of you and your family heading in a big trip. How did the canopy handle this? Did you find the side doors large enough and well built?

    • @griffinsgetaway
      @griffinsgetaway  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Mathew, yes we are currently travelling around Australia full time. The canopy has been great so far, the side doors are very easy to open and smooth and yes plenty large enough, I can easily get things in and out the sides.

    Hoping this ain’t the case. But can you confirm?

      Hey mate, yeh still happy with it for price, but the paint is not great, hinges are not good either, I have repainted the outside and put new hinges on it. Also one of the gas struts had failed.

    Cheers mate, video helped a lot. I’ve just finished putting mine together for the Amarok.
    I’m pretty sure those left over split washers are to go on the opposite side to the bolt/washer on the front and back pieces, rather than in between. That’s where I ended up using them anyway.

    What colour wires did you connect to for the brake light

    • @griffinsgetaway
      @griffinsgetaway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Stephen, from memory, it was a white and black wire. The black wire is the positive wire and the white wire is negative. I just wired it into the trailer plug. Positive wire to the brake signal pin and negative wire to the ground pin.
