Marky got better and better every year while he was in Vancouver, maybe it was the Vancouver goalie coach that made him what he is today, treat him good Calgary
I think what made him this good was years of horrific defensive play by the canucks.
Ian Clark is a huge reason why Marky is the way he is. Marky was emotional and had tantrums before Clark arrived. Clark's current resume now includes Marky after Bobrovsky. Demko is next line and already has the calm demeanor...Clark gunna turn him into Vezina caliber. Wouldn't be surprised if Marky has an amazing season next year. Tough to see him go at the hpinnacle of his career but Clark made him too good. Can't keep him cuz of Petey and Hughes contracts. Its Demko time anyways and I'll take Holtby any day.

I love Marky he has emerged as one if the leagues top goalies! I always believed in him and was always a huge fan. Sad to see him leave Vancouver but at the same time I know we have a bright future in Vancouver. Just sad to see Marky leave. I’ll be routing for you in Calgary.

Was with Vancouver for 7 years. I think Marky was without a doubt a top 5 goalie in Canucks history. Sad to see him go, but I hope Demko surpasses what Marky did here.

@@Mike604 if you think about it Luongo averaged 40 wins a season where as Markstrom was around 23 or so, all the way to ufa . if you ask me that's a downgrade and bad asset management. They went from hall of fame goalie who's rated 90 overall to a good goalie who's rated 85 overall to absolutely nothing.

Half these saves are caused by BONE HEADED plays by Markstrom in the first place
But he sure made those saves look good

Giordano may be old, but he is still excellent. Tanev will have a much smaller role in Calgary.
The Nucks played really poor defense last season. I would be suprised if Calgary isn't better at it. They sure were last season.
