Flex is clearly the better tool. We’ll see on dependability, but lifetime warranty takes care of that concern. Biggest issue with flex is the lack of bare tool sales and a much smaller line. Lots of Milwaukee fanboys are going to continue finding excuses why the test is wrong or why the tests don’t matter. I’m sure Milwaukee will put out a new model that out performs the flex but it clearly doesn’t today.

Did back in the day with a dewalt dw997 hammer drill 18 v nicad it was big as anything sad that to get 21700 cells on flex you got to get a 8.0 ah battery ridgid might be now lower torque numbers in the max output but they start at 6.0 ah battery with 21700 cell wait to the fall when they drop that new hammer drill from this might be looked at different and the same with all max output tools the 8.0 ah will have 21700 cell too not knocking flex just big and heavy i know the octane is big and heavy is anything so is metabo's top of the line hammer a drill with 1250 inch pounds of torque forgot the BPM on that I just know that one's not cheap the price of that kit you can buy whole flex kit or Milwaukee gen 3 kit

@@bluemantom77 21700 cells are 4 Ah, and woud be some 5 Ah in the future. One row of 21700 is good up to 40-42 A max, so less then two row 18650 cells that is good up to 40-46 A. There is a weight diference, some 100 grams more for the 2 row of 18650, but that is important only for lighter tools, not for huge top of the line drills weighting 2.1-2.7 Kg. For a Bosch GSR 18V-55/55 is good a 4Ah pack pro core with 21700 cells, but for a 18V-150 you realy need the 8 Ah pack coz' that drill has world best 84 Nm soft torque and 150 hard torque, and needs a lot of amps. The Bosch pro core 4Ah compact pack has 536-538 grams ( 515 spect...), and Makita 5 Ah with 2 row 18650 has less then 100 grams more.

akaredcrossbow, BS! Isn't that's what Milwaukee used to be before the Flex came around?! Isn't that Milwaukee was the fastest and the strongest of the other high end tool brand that exists??? Isn't that Milwaukee was the king 👑, the Champion 🏆, the undefeated, the Unrivaled king of Powertools??? Now 35.98 secs of Milwaukee Gen fuel higher end Brushless Hammer Drill with a 21700 Cells 8.0Ah battery is not good for that Title!! So that means Milwaukee's best time of 35.98 had also been beaten by a Ryobi HP Hammer drill with only just a 4.0Ah 18650 cell lithium ion battery! See this is what I'm talking about, not Everytime Milwaukee is the king 👑. Milwaukee gotta LOSE sometimes, and that my friend is what is happening now, Milwaukee have been starting losing. 35.98 secs. Ryobi beaten the Milwaukee, so that means Lowe's Kobalt can also beat Milwaukee, DeWalt and Makita as well. Same thing with Skil brand, and Walmart's Hart tools. They can beat Milwaukee, DeWalt and Makita. This is the testament that Milwaukee is Slowing down. Being so greedy so for many years Milwaukee deserved to get beat down. Instead of Milwaukee should go back to the drawing board and science lab TTI became so over confident and complicent that "Milwaukee is the best tool in the world" well not anymore! 🤣 But with having said all that I'm the kind of guy that is not loyal to any tool brand. I'm the guy that uses tools whatever I have and whatever is around to get things done. Even though I have the Flex tools some calls it the "Godzilla" aka Milwaukee Killer. I still have my old tools such as DeWalt dcf885 dcd785 Hammer Drill, dwe575SB corded circular saw w/ brake, DeWalt dcf887 and dcd796 hammer drill, I got Bosch CSW41 corded Worm Drive Saw. Bosch Freak impact driver/wrench, Bosch corded HD18-2 Hammer Drill. Got Makita xdt16z impact driver, Makita 5377Mg Hypoid Saw corded, Makita SJS 5" corded angle grinder, Makita pneumatic framing nailer, Hitachi corded 12" Sliding Miter Saw, Ryobi HP 4 speed impact driver and the new HP Hammer drill also Ryobi corded 10" Compound Miter Saw, corded Electric Planer, orbital sander, angle grinder. DeWalt corded table saw. And just so you know even though I have branded and expensive tools, I also do own some cheap stuffs like harbor freight tools Hercules brand impact driver and hammer drill bit they're both brush not brushless. I switch them out and doing rotations on all of my tools in the jobsite. Except the Flex tools! They're expensive as hell they're like Supercars.

The Flex is so bulky looking it’s almost cartoonish. I’ll stick with the Milwaukee with a 3 ah HO battery.

  • @realstaceylewis
    @realstaceylewis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Here’s how I look at things. When you buy a tool you’re really putting faith into the company. Faith that they took there time and built a good product and you can trust that if it isn’t where you want it to be they’re working on it to get better. Input faith into Milwaukee because they’ve proven over the years that push come to shove they will continue to innovate without fail so we know what the future holds.
2nd when comparing these 2 drills I believe the Flex is the most powerful. But Milwaukee is the most advanced. Yes it’s true. When you use an iphone the challenge for apple was first to make the best phone. It could be gigantic as long as it was the best. Then over time they mastered it and tried to make it smaller. That’s real innovation to get the same performance with smaller parts and real estate. That shows the commitment from the company. It took a lot more ingenuity to put the Milwaukee together than the Flex where they just used the strongest parts without restriction. That tells you where the companies are.
Lastly Milwaukee has said previously that customers complained about the power so they try to find balance. You can be too strong and they were at that limit. This will only force them to give us a drill that none of us can use because they have the tech to do it or stay true to form and continue to make the best model of the drill for daily use.
Makita figured that out a long time ago and they’re right there with Milwaukee.

@@loucifer323 Agreed kinda curious as too what 21700's the Flex batteries are using? The 8.0 here may have an extra row of 21700's that the 6.0 milwaukee is running that's why it looks bigger. If that's the case I guess 6.0 batteries with an extra row on a milwaukee 8.0 than it be on HAHAHA. It seems all there batteries may be running higher amp 21700's for that extra turbo edge no battery expert, but just a guess 🤷‍♂️

I'm a Milwaukee guy and I just tried watching your challenge with flex against dewalt 999 and you used the 8ah with turbo on the Flex but the 6 ah on the Dewalt but here your using equal batteries so how can you say that the Flex Dewalt challenge was fair then turn around and use equal batteries on this one the Dewalt had a 8ah at the time you made these but did not use it, if your going to make these challenges make them fair

    18volt compared to 24volt is a 6volt difference, it's like comparing a 4volt to a 12volt tool , not a fair comparison

I think your right but field use is different then a testing set up, he doesn’t show any factors other then the using the tool,,, size is a huge factor as well as weight and usability it’s odd places those things matter more then speed because we all know they are gonna get the job done in ideal conditions

@@AnxOG663 the Flex is not so much bigger than any other heavy hammer drill.
The Milwaukee is the exotic unit here in that lineup.
The point is if you use it as an heavy framing drill size don't matter, it will be an advsntage.
At the other hand i prefer an mid torque drill driver for regular use that is more than a pound lighter than the M18 Gen3

  • @seanmolloy6188

It doesn't really matter because Flex is only marginally better and let's be honest are you really going to get rid of the the thousands and thousands of dollars of Milwaukee or DeWalt tools you already own just to buy it all over again in a new brand for marginal speed? My guess is probably not they are slightly better but they are very late to the game
