Roblox's Catalog used to be a very charming and exciting place to visit when you wanted to customize your avatar, but it was destroyed by users who abused public ugc for a quick buck or for other harmful reasons, In this vid i explain how and why i feel about it

I'm a UGC creator and I had to wait like 5 months to get my application results back in early 2023, it's crazy how you can just do it now by buying Premium.
I've also been on ROBLOX since 2011 so the dip in charm as you've pointed out, has been such a long slow burn, don't get me wrong, it can be useful, but at the same time it has become a huge warzone and a circus.
You have: scams, ripped models from other websites, accessory models stolen between UGC creators, accessories targetted and taken down unrightfully by discord edgelords abusing ROBLOX's DMCA systems, accessories based on NSFW content or that heighten sexualized avatars (breasts, bundles with layered clothing, etc...), items with blood get banned even though they're more tame than what I just mentioned, ROBLOX being stubborn not allowing bundles have 2D clothing support so they force modesty layers, ROBLOX's whack as hell Price Floor, the list of stupidities goes on...
The system entirely just seems so sluggish and ruined honesty, i truly feel bad those like you who actually add value and effort into the catalog. I hope ROBLOX see’s the issues and improves on them, to help creators like you thrive. there’s way too many weeds
@@Epikad There are MANY for sure, man I can't condense the frustration, I feel like DJ Spitz from Smiling Friends just about to LOSE IT.
I really appreciate creators like you that bring in attention as to how abhorrent such a major selling point of ROBLOX like the Catalog has become, and many other things about it of course.
(Mentions too to other UGC creators like Rockerite, Blizzei, Empyror and Reverse_Polarity who also voice their frustrations about this on twitter)

2) make 50 trillion hats about it
3) dumb kids buy it
4) profit
5) repeat

I just hate UGC for avatar items in general. Let them make games, leave the avatar stuff to ROBLOX. The sales (memorial and labor day) and tix. Lastly, limited and limited U should definitely be ROBLOX made items only.
Yea, I think that roblox making it public was one of their worst moves in their entire history. I thought i was funny at first but i find a much sweeter feeling for roblox official items, it feels like they care when they put stuff out for us.

I understand these concerns, however i still like the fact that you can see much more diverse characters in games. I get that cosplayers aint really original, but i do love a detailed character. And about the questionable items, if they are suggestive such as "white bubblegum" i believe that item was called, then that should stay off roblox. And with the non-suggestive but still somewhat questionable items, like the recent "sweater" front accessory, let them stay there, but combining them into inappropriate avatars should be punished as badly as making nsfw content.
i agree when it comes to packages/bundles. for the most part they are good and add a lot more variety and fun
back in probably every one days roblox was nice we just get on work at pizza place, epic minigame or natural disater survival, play enjoy then leave the game with happeness go to the cataloge see cool items start to dream one day you will have them then when you got them 10 years later it got expenisve and now your happy cause you have a expensive item and then not even 2 years after BOOM same item as yours drop for 50 robux or less man can roblox fix there stupid game (ik its long im just mad cause they deleted my childhood account for no reason and i can't get it back cause they sayd no f*ck you roblox)

Old catalogue, the spawn platform decal, and the jump sound effect... ah~ Such a different feeling 20 years ago. Can't believe Roblox became as big as it did, but it's sad to see it monetized the way it is. Fuck paid on Roblox, why wouldn't you just use Godot and put that shit on Steam?? Like Deepwoken?? Wild.
