The World's Easiest Take-Off? - Batu Bolong, 15 March 2021

- Batu Bolong was in a particularly gentle mood on the 15th of March. The take-offs were so mellow, I think you'd be hard pressed to find and easier entry to a wave, anywhere.
That's not to say surfing here is without its challenges. Negotiating the crowd - which was already quite thick by mid-morning - is a constant danger. But since party waves are generally expected and accepted, there were still plenty of smiles out in the water.

Yeah I love to paddle out at shipsterns on my 9 foot log for a chill cruise with the famo on a nice relaxing Sunday arvo when it’s 10ft over head

Not a ton of surfer etiquette followed here but the wave is so relaxed that you could catch just about any wave and go for dozens of seconds on a ride. It's not like people are doing cutbacks and 360 airs. :) Just put this place on my bucket list! Thanks for the vid for reference !

These waves are so fantastic. Here in my city in Brazil you have to swim for like 10 min to get over the breaking zone. Then when you are in the point, you are already tired.

It gets like this regularly, it's a swell magnet so the main thing is the wind or if there's too much swell.

Wish I had these waves to learn how to surf. All I had were quick breaking waves. San Clemente Pier, CA is a beautiful surf spot. Hot surfer chix too,😁

i noticed the girl at 2:01 paddles out with her board facing the shore, is that common (work better?) i've never seen that beforee. also the kicking her legs in the air at 2:07 (seen lifeguards paddle out like that , just wondering if it helps, i can't find anyyhing about it )
It's normally done if it's shallow to keep the fin safe from the reef 👍
I could have done with that when I was there. Instead it was overhead, not particularly gentle and I was forever getting caught inside in heavy traffic.

It’s a shame that the one time I came down here was when the swell was pumping 8ft+. Seems like a pretty fun wave when it’s smaller.
