August is a great time of year for surf in Indonesia. Lots of options. Bali has the most comforts ie places to stay, eat, nightlife so more crowded. Surrounding islands are less crowded with less comforts. It all depends on what you enjoy the most.
The drone got caught up in a fisherman's line as he was casting. He grabbed the line with his hands, just inches before the drone went into the ocean so we got lucky!
@madsteeez forecast calls for both Balangan and Impossibles to be waist high until July 6th. Thus far, a very small dry season with swell directions in the 190-200 degree range. I fear this entire dry season is going to be disappointing.
Good question! I have seen it well over double overhead. The problem when it gets bigger is so much water is pushing around the point that it gets to be too much of a paddling exercise. Surfable, yes, but few go out, including locals.
It would be interesting to actually measure the two, but l believe you could be right about that! Impossible doesn't have that flat midsection as well. My take is the higher skilled surfer would likely prefer Impossibles vs a beginner or intermediate that wants a more laid back type wave, would be more attracted to Medewi.
@@BaliSurfHunters yes exactly, also impossibles is so much faster so you clear a much longer distance per time. I've had some of the longest waves there on a bigger swell at dead low tide. Only surpassed by one wave i had at chicama😅
@madsteeez You mentioned Chicama Peru and that's why l mentioned Pavones CR (both long waves). For the record, both Pavones and Chicama are not in Bali 😅
Thanks for watching!
Great video showcasing a fun session! and Medewi is awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it!
the inside barrel is world class. vertical fast and perfect
Great video am going to Bali in August this will really help find some new spots! Keep posting 🤙🏻🤙🏻

@@BaliSurfHunters ohh! Unlucky accident. Good the drone seems unharmed 😁 haha
Thank God I never wanted to surf that mushburger. Maybe when I turn 80 I'll try it on a Longboard.
yeah - schlepp your board overseas and surf a fat wave ok if four guys out like when I went there in 2004 but this, sheesh, not worth...
I hope you make it to 80 and if so, can surf on anything. Enjoy your health while you can.
The first surfer has the same style as Kelly.
can you leave it until you are 90..........so we do not have to deal with your ego
3:48 thats meee
Glad we captured you.
Dude #1 had a Slater Swag to him 🤔
Crazy crowded for medewi
A lot of south in recent swells. These swells made Medewi slightly bigger than spots like Kuta and Canggu that were in the shadow of Bukit.
@@BaliSurfHunters I'd check out impossibles and balangan then😊

welcome to Bali 2007 onwards
The guy that tow’s in when Ulu is huge rides the longest wave in Bali by a long long way
Yes, but that's a very infrequent occurrence vs Medewi breaking all the time.
How big can Medewi handle?

What band or song is at the begining? :)
dark arts has so much drive
I think impossibles is longer on a good day

@madsteeez Don't forget Pavones in Costa Rica. We got some rides on that left that were over 3 minutes and 15 seconds long.
@@BaliSurfHunters Pavones is not in Bali though. Read the title 😉
