    Orbi by Netgear Router AX4200 , what are your thoughts about it? Do you get Mesh routers or standalone router?

  • @MissStateFan
    @MissStateFan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    That speed is what your router/modem is getting from ATT. Run a speed test from the speed test app/website and that'll show you the speed that your phone/tablet/computer is getting from the router. The wireless speeds will be lower than wired. I also have ATT fiber.

    • @MyGadgetsWorld

      I get the speed as much as connectivity from the Satellites, mostly I get 400 to 500 mbps connectivity and same speed from speed test.

    This is an awesome video, I’ve been wanting to purchase this device for a while now. Finally my wife purchased it for me for our anniversary and I’m super happy about setting it up. We have problems with wifi connection and I’m really excited to get this connected. Thanks again for the great video.

    I’ve used this router for a year with wireless satellites only.
    I wired one of the 2 satellites directly to the router and immediately reduced spectrum interference which allowed my smart speakers to work way faster than they had been during the previous year, the house wifi extended by double, and wireless traffic to my last satellites was increased to 70 MB/s and before max was 40.
    That’s only wiring 1 of the satellites. I have every intention to wire that last satellite and get gigabit speeds for my Plex server

    Thank you for your video, it was definitely helpful. I purchased a new house which is a little bit like a maze. It’s 3200 sqft but just set up in a unique way. I‘be been using an AirPort Extreme and fiber internet, I’m now thinking upgrading to mesh is my best option. Currently Costco doesn’t have the model you purchased, and no surprise, the prices have gone up. Which model would you recommend I go with now? RBK763s, RBK843S-100NAS, or RBKE953S-100NAS. I still think my AirPort Extreme is a good router but it doesn’t make sense to use it with an Orbi mesh set up, correct?

  • @Zarabozo
    @Zarabozo ปีที่แล้ว

    I wonder what the "S" stands for in the model name. I got the RBK753 from Amazon and it looks identical to this, packaging and contents. The only visible difference is that "s" in the model name.

    What modem is best to use with this RBK753S? Costco has two to pick from, Nighthawk CM1100 which is modem or Nighthawk CAX30 which is modem and router.

      CM1100 is better because it is just modem. You really need one router.

      I purchased this unit last April. I loved it at first but then started dropping our as well. I did the firmware update but no help. Now it seems every day I must reboot my router. Sometimes I lose a satellite. I have the phone support. They would really work with me to try and help but at the end, I returned my unit to Costco. So frustrating. All of the reviews state how great this set up is. I am now thinking of buying another Orbi three pak and trying agian, since I have the Pro phone support, I don't want to waste $59.95. Today I called support again and they said I can transfer the support plan to whatever Netgear product I decide on. I am thinking about the Nighthawk router and forgetting about the Mesh. I have a large house with a finished basement so I'm still on the fence about a router alone would work. Decisions, decisions. I might just eat the phone support and go with something entirely different.

      Got it setup yesterday. I have AT&T wifi and you need to turn off the AT&T wifi. The coverage throughout the house (inside and outside) is very good now. My wifi plan is 1 Gbps but the download speed from Orbi is around 800+ Mbps. And for my wireless devices, the download speed is around 200+ mbps. So, nowhere close to 1 Gbps.

    • @MyGadgetsWorld

    • @hamajangz9586
      @hamajangz9586 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look for a good reputable Docsis 3.1 modem. That number is very important. It's needed to run Wifi 6 routers. Check your ISP's list of compatible devices. Also steer clear of modems with the Intel Puma chipset. It's very bad. Do your research before settling on one.

    Thank you so much for this nice sharing, I am just bit confused you mentioned 3,000 sq ?, according to their specifications one satellite is good enough for 5,000 and two for 7,500 sq ?
    so would you for fun test using only one and share part two video with us please ?
    I also wonder if the two satellites can connect to each others ?, this will be very useful in situation where my modem is in one corner of the house and I need to reach really far to the other end, this can be in part 3 :) and test how far it can go

    • @MyGadgetsWorld
      @MyGadgetsWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man thanks for the comment. Yes specifications mention the maximum it can reach but speeds not gonna be really good. In my 3000 sq ft it is working amazing and it can go 4000 sq ft easily but 5000 and 7000 sq ft you will have lower network bandwidth between units and eventually lower internet speeds from ISP. It is like more far you go more lower speed gets but still you will have connectivity. I hope i explained it well. Thanks for the comment again.
