If you are a newer watcher to Duffys channel, I highly recommend that you go back and watch his videos from the beginning....I am personally proud of this guy from where he started to where he is now! He has fought the good fight to get where he is!!!! Farming isn't easy, but he has made it happen!!!
Well said and I been here for years seeing the struggles Chris has gone through and he always over comes them. IF I did lived closer (I'm guessing 3 to 3 1/2 hours away), I would be more than happy to offer a helping hand to him anytime.
I was holding my breath the whole time you were putting the spring on. Really glad you got it on without hurting yourself 👌 Keep pushing mate, doing awesome 🏴
Next ur at harbor freight check out the motorcycle jack, it could be used on a lot of ur projects. We have used ours on engines support, transmissions, axles, garden tractors, hydraulic motors, transfer cases etc. You could have set that spring on it, jacked it up and pushed it on. Check one out next time ur at harbor freight. It’s more universal than a transmission jack

Chris any of the chat says why you run old equipment, first of all your young and strong as a bull, second not afraid of tackling anything. I have put Mack springs in before know how heavy they are and a SOB to handle. We also changed out the bushings as well when we were in there not at all fun.. I wish i could reach through the screen to help you, feel for your knees when you get my age you will understand what I’m talking about. Can’t kneel on concrete it’s always knee pads… take care and good luck with the rest of the repair!
Yes pretty sure springs break on new equipment. Only thing you can't fix new equipment yourself, I have a field ready to cut now before the rain comes. OK I will fit you in next week, to fix the computer.
@@stinkydog5935 You would crap your pants, trying to get it on. You would be crying like a little girl, boo hoo hoo, I can't even move it, why am I such a loser in life. 😂😂
He has a transmission jack attachment for his floor jack with chains that would have kept it from falling off there. He probably forgot he has it and didn't think about it.
Sometimes lif reeeeeeeally sucks but you have enough stick-em to keep going. As a Heavy equipment and Ag equipment mechanic and Fluid Power tech I would like to strees to you to clean, clean and clean some more before opening up the hystat. Take a ton of pictures if you're unsure of anything and follow your manual to a tee. Most of the internal sealing surfaces of the hystat need to be lapped to ensure a good seal and efficient operation but if it worked well before you can probably get away with doing it on the cheap, at least for now.. Hang in there Chris!
What if in the future you install the trunnion by itself first, then install the springs and u-bolts after? Reduce weight for easier install. Just keep going and don’t give up.
Chris, I would’ve had soo many colorful curse words trying to do that spring job on my own!! Kudos to you for doing that job? Keep up the good work! 👍👊
Them spring packs are 300 pounds plus you cant pick them up and run around with them and dragging them is a pain in the butt Chris but a farmer has to do what ever you have to to get the job done
Yes it is very hard to work on his truck by yourself and doing the maintenance work takes a lot of money and income net income helps you replace parts on a truck or anything that breaks down yes it does cost a lot of money to repair your equipment but it'll be worth it down the road
Being forced to look at Chris’s back side not ideal. 👉👉👉If I only had made my drive onto DIY Jib Crane. Plus a hand cart would be as you say ( A Game Changer ). Work smarter NOT HARDER like the saying goes.
Hey Chris, the next time someone bitches about the way you do things, please tell them to KISS YOUR ASS. You’re deff not a quitter and you get the job done. I appreciate your videos and all you do. KEEP ON TRUCKIN! 🤜🤛
The newer today off and on road Mack’s are no better then the old 70’s ones cause they have n’t changed very much. They’re practically the same and work better and longer then the other brands.
Yell the new stuff's pretty nice But like you said it breaks to But you're not making payments I like to have a new pickup too but I don't want Make a payment for the next seven years I went back and watched some of your videos from I think it was 10 years ago you didn't do much talking when you first started out

I completely agree. So proud of him
I agree as well. He definitely came a long way. Chris is a Big Time Farmer, compared to his previous life.
1 thing I can say about you Chris, is you never give up ! Great video
I was holding my breath the whole time you were putting the spring on. Really glad you got it on without hurting yourself 👌

I guarantee he is hurting after wrestling it. Those springs are no joke. I've done enough spring packs similar to that.
U are very persistent my hat is off to you Mr Duffy
Great job bud! Glad you got it together! She’s definitely worth the parts and the time to keep it rolling! Can’t beat old iron! Be safe wrenching
My back hurts from watching you..... but way to get it done!
Keep fighting the good fight Duffy
Well done,Chris 👍👍👍
Farming... you're either in a bind or just before being in a bind...this never changes

I like the golf ball idea my dad always stood up there and popped the bubble while I pumped lol
Harbor freight engine crane/hoist is my favorite helper for jobs like this. Keep up the good content.
Chris, you need to look for a rolling gantry so you can lift stuff with an electric hoist instead of your back.
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊
You need to thanks the right one that got you there. ☝🏼✝️
Ask my wife says, " if you don't injure yourself the first time, keep trying, you'll get it done."
My heart goes out to you I used to work on those Mack Camelback you be careful out there and I'll keep watching your videos
Your amazing. I had a '80 with the camel back's and had several break.
I told Andy this very same thing Jack up the radiator cap drive a new Mack under it😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hernia waiting to happen.😂

A Vevor hydraulic engine hoist may have come in handy lifting those springs into position.

Sorry you were alone would have been better keep up the good workI have a ports A frame with a winch 5 ton
Same suspension as my 1997 CL700
I see CNY Cortland is having an auction

You need a 2 wheel truck, it will be your best friend.
Engine hoists are your friend for suspension work.
Should have used the transmission jack attachment for the floor jack. Imagine you forgot about having it. The chains on it would have kept it steady.
You'd benefit from some lifting straps. And maybe some chain winches that you can lift from above and not only with the forks from below.
a broom will clean the rocks so the jack will roll an takeing the time to use it will make life much better for most of use that do so
I could be wrong but i believe the spring and trunion together is somewhere around 300 pounds
I think you need a engine jack. It would have helped you with getting the leaf spring on.
What if in the future you install the trunnion by itself first, then install the springs and u-bolts after? Reduce weight for easier install. Just keep going and don’t give up.

To late now but hook a chain around the rabs on the end of the spring to move it around it's sketchy but it works
Too late ur already good at it.out if necessity.

I would dare say my 1997 CL700 has the same exact camel back suspension as yours
Would you say that is a good or bad thing that mack hasnt changed it much? Ive never owned one, but heard they are rugged.
@@joekeusch5995 nope compared to others who’ve changed thier new crap is worst over the decades.
Chis you need to build an a frame with a chain fall on it
You need a heavy duty two wheeler around there
I would have moved the hay out to be able to get your tractor in there
Isn't the workbench between those two bays so the tractor still wouldn't be able to get at it??
Good job, not easy things to work with..❤👍👍

Too bad you don’t have a dolly cart, especially one with a lift.
Duffy, we apreciate the effort you are putting in daily videos, but proper sleep is really important.
Two wheeled cart PLEASE!!! Please show us greesing the corn head the rigt way! PLEASE!!!!
you should buy somthing new . A shop winch than can anchor to the floor and a shop crane
It takes some wrenching but the older stuff is way better than the new ones
