Hey Matt Williams. I really do wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the video you had uploaded on writing a Killer SOP. Because of that I managed to get into Uni of Cambridge. Thanks a lot for the effort and time you put in these videos.
If creative people exhibit more power, why is it that the education system relies on regurgitating information? Why do universities rely so much on grades based on an education system that fundamentally supports this repetition of information? Is memory superior to creativity? You raised very interesting points, I enjoyed watching this!
Interesting how one preposition change can lead to so many new possibilities! I love the idea of getting your hands dirty with the question and how an age-old proverb can still hold new meanings if we turn it around a bit. Great video as usual! Thank you for this.
"Think for oneself" meaning Subjective Thinking. Thinking of oneself meaning Objectiving. The former aligns more closely with subjective "feeling" and conditioned and prejudicial thinking. The latter aligns more closely with Enlightenment thinking and the belief in rational experiment and intellectual and material progress. Imagination is state of being unconvinced by semantics and Enlightenment ideas. Creative thinking texts on the mystery of awareness as conscious beings. This the best definition of creativity is Coleridge's " A genial understanding directing self consciously a power and simplicity wisdom deeper than consciousness. " This is what don't think for yourself ie think outside the box.
Dear Matt, critical thinking requires a critical approach but creativity includes and rests upon the fact of Coleridge's fundamentally "Romantic" and intuitive approach and the mystery of consciousness. (I think)
Interesting! I'm on the scientific end of political science so tend to bleach the world of wonder and count things! Not terribly "romantic" of me, I know, as I tend to think of how creativity could be measured and exploited. But I can certainly see your point about an inherent mystery to exceptional cases of creativity. I could not easily quantify Coleridge, for one!
Autocorrect is a terrible thing. And I should check. College's quote (The Essay on Organic Form" in his Notes to Shakespeare is the best definition I have yet encountered that more perfectly describes Imagination and the Creative process. A genial understanding directing consciously a power and implicit wisdom deeper than consciousness.
can you make a video content how to make a distinction essay with contents of essay and how and where they can get more informative ideas from the resources as well? I love your content there Sir. Matt Williams your gratitude Graduating College Student from Philippines ❤️
It's an interesting point. There may be internal sources of inspiration. But that distinction between internal and external is quite difficult to define sharply.

DO yoU believe In Jesus?
No. Why would you?
Before I watch the rest of the video: am I correct in my assumption that we have to take inspiration from external sources for our creative thinking?
It's an interesting point. There may be internal sources of inspiration. But that distinction between internal and external is quite difficult to define sharply.
Google does get to know people's buying habits and search history, but you are the one who know yourself best!
