    Thank you so much matt, i was convinced i would be rejected by Oxford, and nearly didnt apply, but then i thought about it, and i said to myself, this university is exactly what i want, i am gonna apply anyway.
    I was anxious throughout the whole process and thinking, oh i am definitely not getting an interview or an offer.
    It has now been almost 4 months since i got a medicine offer from oxford, and i cant wait to start in October

    I know this is for undergraduates but I got suggested this video and it really helped.
    I want to apply for a PhD at Cambridge but felt so unconfident since I only JUST meet the minimum entry requirements. But this video reminded me that still means I am eligible, it's only me stopping myself from being competitive.
    Thank you for such an insightful video

    Thank you very much for this insightful,inspiring video. I love the idea of believing in our humanity. What an absolutely fantastic way to get past the self doubt that many of us sometimes get, the feeling of not being good enough/worthy enough to apply for something . I am so glad you made this video. I love your videos & I find your story very inspiring. Thank you so much! 🙏

    I am not trying to be unconfident but my predicted grades are A*A*A, which makes me eligible, but after doing loads of online research, basically everyone that got in got 3 A* and some even had 4, all these data just keep getting my confidence low

    • @JesusCollegeOxford1571
      @JesusCollegeOxford1571  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The problem with online research about grades is that only those willing to report their grades can be found as data. They are unrepresentative. The true distribution of A-levels is more diverse. And, eligibility is sufficient. If you prep well for any admissions tests you may have and the interview then you will be just as competitive (possibly more so) than someone struggling to manage their time whilst pursuing 4-5 A-levels. Good luck!

    Hi sir, not really sure if this is a question at all but I'll leave it here anyway, I am currently half way through middle school and find with every Oxford or high academic video and website I discover that an impending feeling of imposter syndrome and self doubt washes over me as if my current passion will have drained away when it's my time to move on to greater things and I feel almost stuck and powerless in the academic stage I am now, I would say I am often one of the 'top of the class' if such a thing exists and do believe that I have found a vague outline of my passions.... Any advice you feel you could give? Fine if not 🙂

    • @JesusCollegeOxford1571
      @JesusCollegeOxford1571  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Imposter syndrome is remarkably common. It's been estimated that about 90% of oxbridge students and staff suffer from it to some extent. I would suggest not worrying about what may happen in the future, with regards to your passion. Focus on the here and now. You can't completely control the future, and you may hut yourself in the attempt.

      @@JesusCollegeOxford1571 Thank you so much Sir, the responses you continue to provide really are invaluable to so many young bright kids! @@JesusCollegeOxford1571 Thanks so much for the reply sir, your responses really are improving the present and future for so many young people, including me. I do have one more question, I know I thoroughly enjoy all essay based subjects and humanities though I find that while I get reasonably high grades in maths and sciences that I know they really aren't what I love, I know I just need to find areas I enjoy in order to flower an interest but I really feel uninspired to do so as I already have my passions should I just carry on as I am?

    • @JesusCollegeOxford1571

      @@ajoggingoracle6441 Following your passions is usually the best bet, yes. But, do persevere with maths/STEM, as those tools can open up a lot. I used to hate maths because a maths teacher literally bullied me. As I got older I realised I didn't hate maths, but the memories of doing maths. I actually found that maths could be really powerful and interesting for subjects like politics.

      @@JesusCollegeOxford1571 Cheers for the advice, I will try a bit harder to find interest in stem just so the subjects are more enjoyable in lessons and see if that bumps up the pretty decent grades I'm getting (65-85% usually)😊

    Thank you so much for your videos! I need a little help actually, could you maybe make a video on written work required for applying, what topics you expect, what sort of marking and comments you expect from teachers and such? Actually I am from India and really not familiar with the essay work that is generally required for the course( I want to take History and English so I have to submit 3 written works) Thanks so much again!

    Hello Matt! Thank you so much for the video. I’m a student from IB1 and I’m going to take the TSA test this November, however my scores for the mocks are pretty low (around 55%), is it still possible for me to increase my score to 75%? Are there any other exams similar to TSA that I can use as practice materials?
