Mate I love Witcher 3 but as a poor ass guy I can't afford a system to run it. I've watched a few playthroughs on youtube, played Witcher 1 and read the first two books.
Y'all overhyping it is the reason people are hesitant on playing it I finished the game, it was alright It didn't blow my mind or anything. I came in expecting it to be a masterpiece cause that's basically what most die hard fans (my friend included) described it as, I was wrong.

Both are incredible, thematically they are very similar. No real good or evil. Never read the Witcher books so I'm biased but ASOIAF just has so much symbolism packed into it, it's absurd.

Since then there have been numerous publications in various media, including the game studio CDPR which has released 3 major games of the franchise. Additionally, Netflix is streaming the first season of the Witcher since 2019, featuring Henry Cavill, which is basically a close but not absolutely exact interpretation of the novels and short stories. I personally can highly recommend the original novels, which feature a wide variety of themes including sorcery, politics and romance.
A Witcher Carries 2 swords. One silver for killing monsters in the wilderness. One steel for killing those in the cities and villages. May have butchered the quote but point is conveyed.
Witcher III is the best game experience I've ever had. I'm working on my fourth playthrough. The Netflix Show while ok to good at moments, is nothing compared to the books or games.

The Witcher 1, 2, 3, follow the books. I have played all 3 and it is an experience. I highly recommend playing the other parts as well, the first part was timeless for its time and if it wasn't good, the second and third part wouldn't have happened.
what i have learned from this video and the previous one, this dude has a raging hardon for game of thrones, which wasn't even a sperm cell in the mind of the showrunner when this franchise first got green lit for production into a game series, if anything the writers/producers for game of thrones took inspiration and copied much of the scripts they made from other fantasy works such as this game franchise/WoW/LOTR etc.

That's a bit of an overexaggeration. In my experience it only ruins other open world rpgs. I don't see how it could ruin other genres of games or other forms of media for that matter
The Netflix show does not reflect W3 in worldbuilding or themes. W3 is not GoT. The only thing in common is the will to be controversial to general fantasy tropes. The Witcher is all about consequences of action and the path you choose or are forced of choosing, fighting against fate as the tragic hero or embracing it. W3 has all that inside the game, the Netflix show does not even come close... not even mentioning the showrunners' questionable casting choices. Play the games and read the books.

There's a TV show now, 1 season, but it's mediocre. Games are better, though might be hard to get acclimated to for a new player to the franchise. The 3rd one did dumb the gameplay down a little, but still there's some learning to do when you start.
