1:54 Ah yes, the same advice I got from a college professor when the online homework system clearly had bugs. "If it says you're wrong, then you must be wrong, and you should try not being wrong to start being right." I'm paraphrasing of course, but still. :P
My favorite thing about the faction that beat him, the Steel Striders, is that they're the only late game faction that doesn't rely on crazy cheese/gimmick tactics to win. Their ships are just really, really strong for their cost In other words, they're the guy that beats your arse fair and square by simply being better, so you can't claim they're cheating and I love that about them lol Either way, solid video
So yea "From The Depths" doesn't have a learning curve per say its more of a learning cliff. I have been playing for Years and I'm still learning. Its a great game!
I've cleared the campaign on Very Hard and dear god is it very hard. I managed to avoid fighting the Steel Striders thanks to diplomacy, but given the Scarlet Dawn are arguably even more dangerous, it was rough.
25:35 I used the good ol' space laser strat. I completed the campaign on Godly difficulty in about 6 hours iirc. Well... more like 30 hours if you include designing + troubleshooting the PIDs and AI. I Had to build 3 separate designs for different budgets + a fast supply ship to supply them with material to burn. Just one used like 10k mats per second while firing the laser. (and about 20 per sec while idle) this was two years ago. so i imagine this strat is a bit less doable nowadays
I have played this game and I haven't beaten it at all. They kinda changed a lot of systems when I was about to get past the learning curve so my stuff was bad. Could pick the game up again but now I don't have the time anymore alas.
"The beatings shall continue until moral improves." I'm going to have to remember that.
someone once said that from the depths doesnt have a difficutly curve, it has a difficulty cliff.

First I would build supply lines for gaining materials first.

21:24 I saw that reference!
Yes finally a good video
Love the Austin power’s reference
This man vibes hard.
It's not exactly that playing the game at this difficulty is hard. It's more that it's boring. It takes a while.
