BMW E90 How To Code **INSTANT** Auto Folding Mirrors With Remote FOB Using NCS Expert DIY

- In his video I show you how to code auto folding mirrors using your key fob remote or your door handle if you have comfort access. I show you how to custom code your nettodat.trc file so they will close instantly. No need to hold down the lock ridge on your comfort access door handle or the lock button on your remote. We do this using NCS Expert and NCS Dummy (Optional).

Thank you for the detailed tutorial. Worked on my 09 328i w/o comfort access. I only need to code the remote part and the key press duration to have the mirrors fold in instantly on locking.

I would love to experiment some coding on my E90 and I love watching your tutorial videos I wish there was a video that outlines the correct and simple way to install the NCS Expert I think the installation of NCS is more complicated than the coding itself

First 5 minutes i thought to myself this would be a too long video to watch, but no way. Your video was super usefull and i loved the way you explained every bit of it for somebody who has no ideea what they're about to do (like me) . I still do have one or more questions that's bothering me. What's the difference between the FSW_PSW file and the NETTODAT file? For me it looks like you are accomplishing the same results from any of the files. I did understand that you have some custom coding on your car and that's why you have to use the NETTODAT file, but still i'm not sure if you would get the same result opening the FSW_PSW file with ncs dummy or not?

Yo, man love ur vid. Glad you did the whole process with recording. I am thinking to do it to my e93 m3, and I still have a question. Did the steps similar to ur video, like open the model and using the software? (I knew I need the model name for e93 m3) and basically what you did is opening the closed features, but I saw some people coded the taillight, which will be more difficult than this, right? Or I can do this in through that method?
Sorry I'm a bit confused. I've coded the vehicle speed to display digitally on my dash via the fsw_psw.trc, does this mean I would have to strictly use the Nettodat.trc file to code this module in the future due to the fact that I enabled the digital speedo? I have a 2011 e82 just in case this has any affect.
Very Useful video, most of the files i could understand how to fetch, update, and load into ECU main file, can someone help me to get this feature activated in my E90 LCI vehicle.
Just did the retrofit install with custom wire harness etc on my 06 E90. Did all the FRM and CAS coding (relevant to my make and year, i have the FRM1 and Cas2) Yet they wont work with the inside button nor the remote, Both should be on the LIN bus now with the new harness. They dont throw an error as i assume they would if they are coded inn but not detected?
I have read some where that you need to add them $430 or $310 to VO (vehicle order or FA as it says in NSC) Could you shed some light on this or if anybody else in my situation has some info that would be greatly appreciated
U can still use NCSDUMMY to export FSW/PSW.MAN file even U already done sth change in the same module, that wont change ur old settings.
Hey man, I have a e90 lci with halogen headlights, its proving a nightmare to get my angel eyes coded as my drl and still working when my headlights are on. I changed the drl_h to s and it basically just turned off my high beam bulb but if I switched drl off in idrive the angel eyes would still stay on which is fine as I want them always on unless I have the switch off anyway but when I coded out my amber lights my angel eyes now turn off when my low beams turn on.....any ideas? Trying to get the coding right before i swap in new headlights

thank you verry much for your effort and clearly videos; i have a question please if you can give me an advise; i had my HVAC elctronique module HS; so i change with an another one with no same référence; my comprosor was failed; i changed also; my compressor works verry well when it is actionned directly; but it doesn t works; when i action HVAC butom; i cheked with an electrien; JBE and Resistance ; i try a new one but no think happened; my question is; do you think that the pb may be fixed with coding; i mean; surely; the référence number of th new compressor is not that réferenced on the vehicul memory; the same think may be is for the HVAC module; would you mind to give me technical advise regarding this pb ; by the way were can we find or buy NCS expert; many thank i watch your videos with a big pleaser and admiration; many thanks :)

No it shouldn't be required but there is likely another setting that needs to be changed to allow for the windows to go up via the remote and not just by holding the lock ribs on the handle. I'll look into it.
Great video...I'm about to buy a M sport E90 the advert doesn't say Folding Mirror so if it doesn't have them I can just this? It's that simple?
With most models you can fold the mirrors using the button on the drivers arm rest. This shows how to do it from the fob.
Very well done tuturial. couple of questions. Does every E90 come with folding mirrors prewired? I have a 2009 335i, I do not know if this coding might be relevant assuming the electro-mechanical components for folding feature are not present in the OEM mirror. What are the requirements apart from being functional E90 that comes with still has OEM mirrors, remote, and having ncexpert ready?
Jerry Ebalunode if you have folding mirrors, there will be a button next to your mirror adjustments. You'll need them for this to work.

I used NCS Expert which is part of the INPA software suite. Check the description.

Is there a setting to automatically unfold the mirrors when the engine starts?... I want to prevent unnecessary wear on the motor on the mirrors. It would be ideal to set the remote-hold time to default 2.5 seconds to unfold the mirrors and also unfold mirrors when the engine starts, if it's folded in. Use case would be when I am in and out of the car often when I'm working on the car.
Hmm not sure about that, I wouldn't know of an easy way to custom code that.
Does custom coding for BMW, doesn't replace smoke alarm battery. ;)

Hey I just changed my fuel injectors. And I bought a obd2 cable that came with INPA for windows xp. Do you have a link or know we're I could get on for windows7 online.

Any idea if i can do this to my E46 m3 I have the folding on keyfob for 2secs but it's annoying I would like to try and mod my nettodat to add 00 to the closing time, It's totally the same as your video but when I add the custom value i don't see the length value but the custom code is added, Do you think I'm safe to code, I've back up my told nettodat file so i guess i could code it back to that if it all failed ? I don't have the CAS moduel on my e46 but the LTM BTM and GM5 moudles all show 2.5 sec wait time as the value thanks bud good video helpful and bought some nice ideas to mind.
Tired it today doesn't work on the E46 M3 modded the Nettodat and the length of the time doesn't change after coding I've tired FF and 00 and OA for the inputs it shows as 00 half sec etc but once coded it jumps back to the default 2.1 sec, So i even tired to mod the Nettodat without using NCS Dummy just from notepad then tired still same I guess there is something that re sets it back to default on e46 m3 each time I've followed the guide to a T and then tested another setting in the nettodat and it worked fine guess it just can't be done :(, So i guess I'll be sticking with the old 2 sec method... Great video really in-depth guide if i ever get a E90 I know what video to watch cheers mate.
Hey sorry yeah I was going to say I no as this only works on the later E90 cars so the chances of it working on an E46 would be slim.

The method is different for the F30, the coding process is different. The mirrors that come with the car are compatible.
Vehicular DIY thanks for the reply. Coding for f30 is with ESYS and an ENET cable I believe. I will give it a go but not sure if the mirrors its self are compatible for power folding as I don't have the button to do this from inside the car. In my head I was thinking that I can just code them to close from the key? What do you think ?

Hi had a new engine in my 3series 318d 2011 ran fine for 2 weeks now stuck in limp mode ive had diagnostics which is showing lots of codes really stuck on this issue now any ideas?
I'd check all the fuses, perhaps a wire shorted out from the work when the engine was replaced.
After the coding my mirrors still don’t fold in, am I missing something?

As near as I could figure out, on my E60, using iCarly, I was not able to code my mirrors to auto fold because I did not have heated mirrors.

Technically you could but some coding shouldn't be done while the DME is running. For the light module you could get away with it. If possible you could keep you car connected to another running car using jumper cables.

Did you push the start button on your BMW (foot off the brake) to put it into Aux mode? If so, maybe your cable is not the right one or defective?

Tried doing this today with no luck. I was able to code in digital spedo. But every time I change the nfrm and cas module it goes back to stock once I code it back to the car. doesn't throw any errors at all just wont stick. Do you know what im doing wrong?
You have an NFRM 2 module?
Aveman1 A little new to coding but would that show when you go to choose which ecu to pick or when you process ecu to pick which module? In both they just say NFRM.

With the newer cars it's usually as simple as the mirror switch has to be on the side of the mirror you in question

To make a video on it haha, I liked the idea of being able to fold the mirrors when locking. May cars do that from the factory but didn't like the idea of holding if down for 3 seconds each time.
So if you not so sure that you locked the vehicle, you can take a look at the mirrors to know.
