Love the tips brother, I have been playing for only 2-3 years now with no lessons and a lot of frustrations. With your help in just a couple months I have significantly increased my understanding and skill. I have gone from a 105-110 on 18 to shooting around 90. With every round on the range or on the course I am doing my best to implement your strategies and tips, hoping I can break 90 more consistently and become a better all-around golfer. Loved the video ... Lining up a putt also depends on whether you wear bifocal glasses lenses or not. The magnification of the bifocal (especially lineless lenses) puts the player in a position to "see" a straight line that isn't there. And, it makes it difficult to line up the golf ball to the point of aim. I take my glasses off around the green.
My problem is if I do that I can’t see at all lol.
This is great information. It's counterintuitive but true that there is an optical illusion when setting up for a putt. Clay's system of alignment is very accurate. If you don't trust your eyes you can't hit the putt with confidence. Also, putting your eyes behind the ball helps line it up and, again, gives you the needed confidence to stroke it decisively. Recently, I reread Jack Nicklaus's book Golf My Way and he stresses the eyes-behind-the ball setup. If. you look at his putting stance his head is parallel to the ground so when he looks at the putt there is no distortion. This is important for short putts and so-called "makable" putts of 12 feet and in. Holing those putts will make a huge difference to your score.

@@TopSpeedGolf~ Clay…Thank you! I only played 9 holes, but I made a couple of nice putts, using your technique. I tucked my chin downward, & could see a better line. Hoping as I get used to the feeling, my putting will be much improved. 🤞🏽

I have been putting really well, 30 to 32 putts seems to be a common score. I keep track of putts, fairways, and GIR.... Want to get better... go on
