Love how you share the humble ending. I just did my first ever grain wort, and tipped it down the drain. I made a weak wort with a 1030 OG, because I added way too much water (I was following recipes off the grainfather app). To compensate, I added some dextrose, and on top of that I think I didn't even boil the wort properly. The finished beer had the most bitter taste ever. Undrinkable. Every brew you learn something

Tough lesson to learn mate. Saw your shoulders slump when you had to pour it out. Love the work you're putting into your videos though and love your setup. Just bought a Digiboil myself and might upgrade to a pump for recirc soon :) Keep it up and hope you get another batch going to offset this one.

Cheers, it was pretty disheartening to say the least but i'm back on the horse as they say

Hi, about the burnt rubber flavor it's a common flavor for stressed yeast or bacterial contamination. I never used no-chill method myself, but 8 days between the brewday and the pitch date could have been the problem, because sanitizing doesn't kill all the bacteria and without yeast to compete with it, they can pretty much take over during that time.
Let me know if this helped.
    Happy brewing.

Hey, nice to see another from Penrith. I'm really interested in the digiboil and looking at videos to help me make my decision.

hi really enjoy your youtubes. maybe a long shot but i have just started AG. and the no chill method. from what i can gather when cubing everybody goes to great lengths ( sometimes at the expense of of scorching themselves ) to expel all the air .These cubes then have a long shelf life so i am led to believe . i noticed you had a fair bit of free space in the cube . Anyway just a thought . cheers

Great video, I use an almost identical BIAB system but have a couple of questions:
    1. Any reason you sparge using a bucket rather than over the Digiboil and is that cold or warm water?
    2. What's the thinking about removing the hoy break as the wort comes to the boil?
    3. Any issues with no chill process in the Digiboil overnight? It saves a step i.e filling a cube if you're going to pitch next day
    4. Comments, feedback on the fermenter King Junior
    Cheers.

Does it matter what temp your sparge water stays at al all? I read a lot that the sparge water should stay at a certain temp?

Thanks for the video mate. Can I ask, do you have a false bottom on the digiboil? And do you keep the low wattage element on during mashing?

Why only 1.5 packets of US-05? Why not just throw the whole 2 packs in there?

I had a 1/2 packet in my fridge left over from a recent small batch
