I once got a train from Stoke-On-Trent to London Euston. Here's the announcement. "The b=next train to arrive at platform 2 will be the 14:12 Virgin Trains service, To: London Euston. Calling at London Euston only". It was a Class 390 (My all time favourite at the time + still is)
They are not going to. The GWML has electrification only as far as Hays & Harlington. They were testing their new trains on the WCML (Longer distances for higher speed testing).
Excellent video and thanks for anticipating my question at the end. I was going to ask why the Euston bound Pendo's were using platform 1 instead of 4.
As far as I'm aware Southern have dropped their service to Milton Keynes because of the strike action causing them to use a new timetable which removed this service.
They did bring the Milton Keynes service back in November I think it was when they brought back their full timetable but yes with the latest strikes even on non strike days they've taken it out
Any chance of recording at a higher framerate? For trains, I personally think the optimal frame rate is 30 fps or higher. Your videos are fantastic but only appear to be in 25 fps. Correct me if I am wrong and I'm not trying to be rude either. I love your videos:)
Brilliant video, It was cool to see those 387s on their test runs!
Great video that first 66 was awesome never seen one at full power !!
incredible film Matthew, really enjoyed this, your filming is of the highest class

The 390's do what they were built for, but give me an 86 or 87 and a rake of mark 3 coaches any day of the week.
Nice video dude, well done. Was a bonus seeing London bound Pendolinos running on the slow line plus the Electrostar test run you saw. :)

@@stuad70 that doesn't sound good at all
Very good :-). I like it :-).
How long were you there? At least more than an hour as that's how frequent southern is from there.
They've been on strike, so maybe that's why

Good vid!
Great video. Do you know when the overhead wires came to the railway in this area. Cheers, Peter. USA.
I believe it was during the 60's. I wouldn't like to guess the exact year, but I'd say 60's
Thanks. I thought is was newer. Cheers.
How fast are freight trains in UK and London Midland
London Midland class 350's can go up to 110mph. Freight trains depends on what locomotive is hauling, usually 75mph or possibly 90.
What is the train @ 7:00?
Chreis the flying banana, network rail hst
That train at 7:15 had a bad wheel.
Where will you be going for your 50k sub special? You're not far from 50k, only 2,800 subs to go!
