  • Tallulah Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, wrote an emotional and powerful essay for Vogue where she opens up about the pain of caring for a loved one suffering from a long-term illness. "I admit that I have met Bruce's decline in recent years with a share of avoidance and denial that that I'm not proud of," she writes. TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones reports.

Watching your parents slowly die is one of the hardest things you'll get to do, if you're lucky to make it that far yourself.

Just two comments this man revolutionized the 1980s moonlighting, he's one of the many stars have transitioned from television to Hollywood movie stardom and made it with the Die Hard franchise 😢

The story of how Tallutah Willis has come to accept her Dad's illness and slow decline really impacted me. I was brought to tears, all the movies and television series I watched with Bruce Willis as the star came back to me. I will always remember him as John McLane - he was awesome in that series of movies. His daughters should be really proud that their father will always be remembered by movie fans all over the world. Thanks for the memories and the movies that we can always watch again. With love from Christchurch, New Zealand.

Can bad temper plus hearing loss be early sign!?

It can. If an elder in your family is experiencing that, take them to the neurologist asap. Early detention can help slow the decline.

I hope she won't waste time beating herself up for any shortcomings she may have had (or will have, because it's inevitable.) It sounds like she's learning to focus on being in the moment with her dad, and that's exactly where she needs to be. When dealing with a loved one with dementia, you have to put aside the past, not worry about the future, and live in the present, taking each day as it comes. At least, that's what I learned during the nearly 20 years that my mother suffered from early-onset Alzheimers. Helping my sister care for our mother was one of the hardest things I've ever been through, but it was our privilege to do so.

      @@Hereforthecomments123 You're right. I just looked it up and they're 9 and 11. I can't believe I didn't know. That makes this extra sad. They're so young.
