This week on Patriot Games we're kicking off one of our biggest builds ever with an Australian first: JEEP GLADIATOR RUBICON on 40" tires with a full drive-line swap.
Will this be the baddest road-legal rock crawler in Australia?

Hit the nail on the head about the reputation of toyota and nissan vs jeep, I been to the states a bunch of times wheeling and desert racing and jeeps are the pick and people over here have no idea. Pretty funny how people think they’re rubbish without actually knowing what they’re talking about
I've been 4wding for 40yrs and the last 25yrs building Jeeps 😮😮
Sadly the Aussie scene has zero idea that Jeeps helped win WWII and started the whole 4wding crazy in the early 50's ❤
The greatest Wheeling Truck's being fabricated are Jeeps and the rest just wish they were 😂😂🤣
The Toyota/Nissan set don't understand that the largest number of 4wds around the world are Jeeps with the biggest range of after market support.
Now what the boy's are trying to do is reinvent the wheel on this JT and Justin should have gone to EVO in the US, talk to Mel Wade for the EVO Coilover/Long-arm kit that is the industry leader in Suspension design & Systems for Jeeps.
Another thing required for this is the PSC Hydro Steering System for better street & Offroad Wheeling
Mate, this what I've been talking about. Someone need to introduced jeep properly in the Australia, it no wonder it gonna be the Patriot games again. First it was Power RAM now it the jeep JT. Just can't wait for the revealed. Keep it it up PC.
Too right Australia needs to open up the engineering possibilities on vehicles. If there's anywhere in the world who can best R&D 4WD's its Australia.
fark, where's the tissues. Every motoring enthusiast in Australia needs to thank guys like Justin for doing stuff like this. Building a road legal, well engineered off roader that isn't constrained by parameters, that the anti motoring enthusiast pen pushers would like us to feel we should be grateful for.

BTW I believe your PCOR tray is the best looking Gladiator aftermarket tray out there... If you could build one with deeper drop sides I'd get one.

Justin, other than the fact that the steering wheel is not on the correct side, that thing is a Beautiful (and capable from factory) vehicle! I'm pleased to see that you didn't skimp and got the Rubicon package! And hopefully you will get a chance to take Your Rubicon on The Rubicon trail, after it has been PCOR built! 🤞🙏🤙🤟👍
So if you guys do the engineering to road legal 40”. Can you then mod other wranglers. How about upgrading the towing to 4000kg while your at it💪🏼💪🏼🇦🇺
Except that’s the point they are going to engineer it so it makes the requirements by using the math of what makes 35s legal they just need to build it and prove it
Absolutely love seeing all the fabrication work. I’m like a kid in a toy shop watching this 😀 I have a few projects on the go and just love building something unique to be different and this is definitely going to be unique.

Love seeing companies taking a step in the right direction, I'm sick of the state of the 4x4 laws in AUS I get reamed by the cops for a 3" lift and 33's on an IFS ute hopefully they will make engineering for all makes and models more affordable and readily accessible to people.
Can't run 35s off road on the stock JL/JT in Australia because we don't get the factory high clearance guards that they get in the US (ask me how I know ;))
It's a shame that we can't get the JT with the 3.0 diesel in Australia. With a tune they're almost as quick as the 392 Wrangler. The 2.2 diesel in the export JLs is alright but definitely lacks a little grunt.
Looking forward to the rest of the build. Would have liked to have seen DS Trac portals but can't have everything. Could probably fit 40s with just portals and maybe the US guards.
Justin, What about the Hellcat motor you put in the Jeep at Offroad Expo in Flagstaff? That was bad ass. What a blast that was to see that and see your eyes light up when you revved it.

All you need is money mate..then you can have it all in your yard..the problem is,you dont have the money,hence the reason you want all the vehicle they build 😆
Awesome build! I'm happy to see it's getting easier to get American trucks in OZ. When I was there, there were a few specially imported full size trucks through Thailand. Now we're seeing proper factory trucks from the US. I think you'll be really happy with the offroad ability of the Jeep. Hard to beat a Jeep on 40s.
52:00 actually on a solid axle you don’t need to. If you move the shocks inboard on the tubes it will get more articulation angle at the same travel number. That’s why they work so well, you don’t need much suspension travel to have excellent articulation. That and weight transfer is better at slow speeds.
Good to see you've opened your mind. I'm an Aussie with a JL Rubicon and I love it.

Few go next level in Australia, everyone still doing up 79 Cruisers. Can't wait to the engineering and outside the box thinking for this build to be street legal if possible. Good stuff.
So they shipped air lockers to California to build these axles to ship them back to Australia. Love it haha.

UHM... Lite Bright nation has built the baddest one for the past several years. An Americans most wanted 4x4 build them with heliphant engines.

No need to think about it any more...lol
Get the Falcon 3.3 or 3.5 shocks. Way better and stronger. Get the rock jock rear sway bar flipped sway bar. Definitely get some hydro bump stops for the front. Look and Artec Industries for the belly pans. I would have gone with 1.5 ton steering aluminum steering tie rod and drag link as well as hydro steering from steer smarts or get the steel steering box. Also look at the steering and upper front track bar bracket from Synergy. You can probably call Northridge 4x4 and get everything directly from them. With the axles you are putting underneath you will create weak points if not dealt with.

I haven't seen too many Aussies with a jeep gladiator, so this custom build will be sick!!!
I honestly think that if it's reliable, it will be a weapon off-road and give a 79 series a run for it's money

@@charlesharrell3643 It there anything wrong with that? Like honestly Jeeps are extremely popular in the US especially with young people, they know their market... Sure most are never going to see dirt, but that is not really a bad thing... most Porsches also never see the track. Jeeps have a lot of appeal to youngsters and they also have that "celebrity factor" every influencer on tiktok or celebrity has a jacked up Jeep with every mod imaginable and yet they just drive them on the beach in California. It is a statement rather than a work horse.

This is going to be one of the most interesting builds that you have done. It will make a massive difference to what some people are saying about the reliability of jeep mechanical s in Australia. This is about to show what can be done and what probably needs to be done. A little disappointed that its not going to be a touring modification though.
Jeeps do have great style/body shape. Cool how they got their name too (or really, what Jeep is named after). I miss styling in cars. Pretty much all styling until the boxy 1980s, and wedge 90s.

Here in the U.S. you can get so much stuff for a Jeep you can rise it an inch or you can rise it 10 inches big axles locking differentials to body parts I mean there is nothing you could want for a Jeep that you can’t get from old to new ones
This is so good to see.
There’s some good jeep after market here, but the RHD market is lacking a bit and needs a kick in the pants.
Though I don’t reckon the standard axles are weak, in fact. At least not on the rubis. But definitely running 40s is a bit much for the D44s or variants of.
As a massive cruiser fan. I’m looking forward to seeing the results. #ohhnoo

Great to see a Gladiator getting the works done here in Oz... seen a few of the Sema shows on YT.. the YanKs know their aftermarket products... interested in the specs for making 40" tyres accepted... I was going to go with the NightEagle, but have decided the extra $$ to grab a Rubicon, and build up from there...
