    Love Tyler Smith fit on the raptors him running pick and rolls with scottie branes and quickley could be very lethal. And the raptors have great track record with player development

    I think the word you’re missing when talking about his downsides is “yet” these are all things that should and hopefully will improve throughout his career, so much so that he could be a great wing

    He’s 19yo! He’s definitely not finished developing physically and he might even grow another inch or two!
    I’ve been pushing for the Knicks to draft him at 24/25. I think that the upside on him is big.

      Won't be there at 25. Saw a mock where he went 11. Don't think dude lasts to 17/18. I'm hoping my Pels can snag him. Trey Murphy 2.0

    Got some good bigs to learn from in Giannis, Bobby and Lopez in Milwaukee.

    Your criticisms of Smith on decision making is even worse for Risacher The 0.5 A/TO and subpar AST per 36 of Risacher makes Smith look like somebody who has higher basketball IQ

    i love combo 4/5’s who can shoot. but smith doesn’t have good lateral quickness which means he has to play the 5. but he weights 215 pounds. he needs years of development.
    ryan anderson could actually play PF in his era. how does smith guard players like Rui or better combo 4’s like OG?

  • @irvchilichill1
    @irvchilichill1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Shades of Trey Murphy with the Pels, shooting and athleticism to punish the rim on dunks. 19 yrs old, will grow probably another inch or 2.. So you have a 7 footer who knocking down threes and has the ability to become a solid defender. Can do more offensively but played a specific role on the Ignite. Wishing my Pels would be in the lotto picks to take him or Devin Carter, but I'll settle for Bub Carrollton.

    Karl Towns looks similar on a lot of drives, his gate is upright and he gets bumped and looks weak..too weak and upright to be a good driver. The shooting also reminds me of Towns; potential to be a top 2 bigman shooter in the league. Not too dissimilar defensively. Towns has better tools, longer, and more skilled, much better passer and a better ball handler even though he looks goofy..
    Smith has a solid chance to be Towns-lite. I even expect similar somewhat stationary step-backs and side-step 3s; dangerous shooter from any spot outside of 17ft...
    Is Towns-lite a 6th man; like a different Naz Reid...

      I’m assuming teams would rather take a big that has as good of ballhanding as Naz Ried & improve their 3pt shot than take a player like Tyler Smith & improve their ballhandling to Naz Reid’s lvl. At least that’s what I’m guessing what Ben is implying

    Really great breakdown man. Nicely done. One of the best young player breakdowns I’ve seen on TH-cam

  • @beckembrown7002
    @beckembrown7002 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So is ball handling the why Lauri can play the 3 despite being so tall? Also, is it generally harder to develop self-creation lvl ball-handling than 3pt shooting?

    • @benpfeifer8192
      @benpfeifer8192  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i think lauri is still best at the 4 but he’s a rare mover and handler, and yes

    He’s literally a worse Darius bazley

    • @DeeJay_VII
      @DeeJay_VII 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      They r nothing alike. Bazley is a good defender with absolutely no jumper whatsoever while Tyler can actually score pretty efficiently at the 3 & in the mid range area & he has a good amount of potential on the defensive end
