  • I like to work in series. This video shows one of the ways you can do that. The inspiration is from a video where I saw a guy stacking stones in the most elegant and balanced way.
Of course you can choose to do any size of substrate and any amount of papers you want There are so many possibilities, its just start playing and se what you like and don't like. This series of 6 pieces, is 10 x 20 cm each.
I used 425 gsm watercolor paper as my substrate.

You chose such an iconic object, stacked rocks, but in unusual colors and shapes. The collages truly allur me in and I appreciate you sharing this. I am going to do it! They remind me of cubism still lifes, which adds another element I like.

These are so beautiful. I have always loved using stone shapes in my abstract work. This is a great way to try them. Thank you.

I agree 100% it’s so much fun to play with shapes in a series. I think i will use this as an activity with my granddaughters, using discarded gelli papers.

Thank you Lisbeth. They're beautiful and it was so pleasing watching you make them. If I had made them, I would have been delighted! Sorry that your time in the summer house was so wet, but such a lovely thing has come out of it!

I love seeing stacked stones in real life and very much enjoyed this lesson. I will try it for sure, your results are so beautiful. From you I am learning so much about restraint

Another interesting technique to try. I love this colour palette. Stone stacking started to get popular in the UK in the late 2010s and I read that people doing it has caused problems at some historic sites. We also have a history in some parts of the country of dry stone walls, another form of stone stacking.
Would you able to share a link to the video that inspired you?

Thank you. Check out Gravity Glue on YT . The guy balances stones all over the world! It looks impossible! But,he is the real deal!! Nothing to hold them together but balance.

Thank you! I just watched several short videos with my early morning tea. His work is amazing! I like also that he records his stacks and then leaves no trace, it's all about the process. @@lisbethdegn-dragenkunst
