This man may have had questionable philosophies and debatable political views, but he had the voice of an old fashioned English narrator. I can just listen to him speak in his distinct accent for days on end and I wouldn’t get tired of hearing the sound of his voice!!!
William F. Buckley represents everything that Conservatives are supposed to be and are and what conservatism is supposed to be. And everything that people who call themselves Conservatives today, are not.
I am interested in your take on Dave Smith's poor opinion of Buckley because, as he asked, "what exactly was it that you 'conserved' under Buckley's helm?"
If you want,good give and take then watch William F. Buckley on Firing Line. No matter what the subject is it's a good intellectual talking of opinions on even today's world. Bill could talk with anybody liberal, moderate ,communist it didn't matter. One has a chance to listen to both sides without all the rhetoric. TH-cam has many good debates that resonate even today. I watch him every night and fall asleep to William F Buckley and his quest. Today's Firing Line can't even touch what Bill Buckley brought to his format.
His voice is as fake as Elizabeth Holmes.' WFB's U.S. Senator brother and son Christopher did not have any obvious accent and did not remotely sound like WFB.
Can't wait!

While I am at odds with much of what Mr. Buckley helped build, I nevertheless respect the man and the show he once helmed.

Not true at all . As long as you had “ wrenched certain realities from existence “ that was fine with him.
@@roughhabit9085 I don't expect anti-Buckley people to agree with me on this. Left or right.

I wonder if they will mention Edgar Smith?
he was right about everything
How about Viet Nam ?
@@jimsilvey5432 He does admit he was wrong about VN in a Hitchens debate.
@jimsilvey5432
The war his political opponents started?
@@roughhabit9085the war he supported even though it was started by his political opponents? You can play that game forever.
In exchange for an exquisite show that lasted over 30 years, PBS offer a shit sandwich.
The very last second of this trailer is interesting: I think that may be the invention of Tucker Carleson's ugly squint.
Tucker is a literal turd in comparison to Buckley, how dare you!
