- We have waited so long and Byrna did not disappoint here friends. We give a quick overview of the product design here but please stay tuned we will be doing testing once we have a chance to see what adjustments can be made to get all we can out of this great launcher!
Now seeing the price of this TCR and knowing the history of this launcher / PB gun, I really don't see how Byrna can justify the price increase on this unit. Let's be honest this is a Tippmann TiPX Paintball Pistol in a different clamshell to make it a carbine. Don't get me wrong I Love the concept and would love to have one, but at more than double the original price point of the original PB gun, I don't see how they could have made enough upgrades to justify the price point.
Nice but Price??? Why's me away.
Agree, only Bonus is the Co2 can sit until ready for use. If the M17 had it would be great. Still price not warranted.
I concur. I took a TipX and put a bigger valve (from the TCR) in it and added an aftermarket barrel. I can push hardballs to about 460 fps. Only get a few shots at that level and will shatter pepperballs. But it’s fun. I keep it tuned to just over 300 fps and get a mag out of it no problem. I added a carbine overstock and I d run this unit over a Byrna/TCR any day.
Agree. I was bummed to have learned about this launcher recently just to learn that it was recently discontinued and now it’s back for double the price by a big new name. It loses me a little bit of respect for Byrna
It's the tippmann tcr which retailed at $350-$450 in most places
Got mine yesterday...... Love it. May possibly bring down the volume on the hunter orange thou, any suggestions?
Black RIT Dye should work. Search for videos on TH-cam we do it with the yellow Pepperball parts too
I order mine today. How do u like it?
That case is a LOT better than the plastic case that my VKS came in.
They actually changed the case since this video and I like the new one even better!
So....get a TPR, install a long distance kit, attach a MCS CMP-18 body with buttstock, turn up the fps, and install a remote line adapter.
Can u put a 2 in Lazer and light..on it..
Guy: Excited about the Acr
Group of Gangsters break in
Guy: Should of bought the AR!
my guess is, cranking velocity up will cause internal o rings to fail much quicker and then it's a fun game of learning how to dissasemble the piece and replace said busted o rings.
I got both the TCR and TipX by Tippmann. I was able to upgrade the TipX with components used in the TCR. I did this for less lethal reasons. Id really love to know the components used in the Byrna TCR. I watched a newer vid of yours showing it with a lot more power than in this vid. Looking for more..lol Did I miss what you did? Out of the box My Tippmann TCR seems to shoot the same as the Byrna TCR in this vid, only difference outside is the name. Although now mine will explode a regular paintball before it leaves the marker. So I use 3.64-gram solid nylon balls. It dents stop signs. Also got a fluted barrel with some holes drilled down the spirals its longer then stock one. A friend milled a few to try. The one I got is amazing. The barrels are also usable between my TCR and TipX. thank you
I love it
Thanks! 😎👊
No way I d pay $750 for this thing-it’s just a Tippman TCR retagged. For those that need parts, most Tippman TipX parts interchange. Save your money, let Byrna know your not going for their Extravagant Markup. It’s ridiculous. TCR sells for $350 from Tippman. Vote with your wallet.
Unfortunately you won’t find Tippman selling them new anymore. The rights have been sold to Byrna so they are the only way to get one unless you purchase used or find new old stock.
@@mercylesslethal6039 It’s not a real TPR, I spoke to a Tech at Tippman Svc. It’s got a standard TipX power valve in it so it won’t produce the kind of velocities the real TCR does/did. Tippman quit making them because nobody was buying them-everyone went with the M17 clones. I use the Byrna HD/SD pistols. But I won’t be using their version of the TCR.
@@texaslesslethalairgunsport1387 TCR parts are getting harder to get. The TCR regulators and firing bolt assemblies are "get the now before they are gone" status.
I'm new to less than lethal community. I received my Byrna TCR yesterday. Overall it's a nice launcher. Comparing the Mission TCR unboxing videos by other content creators, my Byrna TCR's breach does not appear to support shaped projectiles. Its Tipmann mags do, but not the launcher itself. Also, no remote line near the buttstock. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
You are probably correct but I haven’t checked the breach yet. Byrna does not make shaped projectiles and their competition does so I assume that was intentional. Also the hole for the remote line adapter is there but the adapter needs to be installed to use it.
@@mercylesslethal6039 Sounds like Byrna is selling the deballed version of the TCR. I was wondering about its shaped projectile and remote line features. Thanks for the info.
Thats because thats how Byrna wants it. They assume liability of the product as long as its used as intended. 99% of self defense situations occur within 20ft...why would you use shaped projectiles? Anything outside that radius and you will have a jury trial especially if you modified the weapon in any way thats not been approved by Byrna.
@@steverockwell5074 My concern exactly, I have been wanting to mod but always have been held back by this thoughts you have been outlining. The people always talk about modification to higher velocity, more fps, increased power, joules and more penetration shaped rounds but nobody or very few has ever touched on legal issues, court cases and being sued. You are an exception. I hate to imagine after I have acted in selfdefence using modified launcher and "killer spiked" shaped rounds and the assailant has to be hospitalized but byrna distancing themselves from this gun as it was modded contrary to their approval as well as the ammo used.
The prosecutor is simply going to grill me by saying " you had the intention to kill or injure, the moment you kept the weapon beyond manufacturer's specifications and i should pray that the numbers are not above legal limit as well. I might be wrong and can be corrected. Thanks 🙏
Couple questions.. im a newbie. Whats the factory setting on the velocity screw? Can you explain the differences if adjusted higher or lower. Im not sure what the benefit of it being lower? Can the yellow inert rounds be used for self defense or are the not hard enough? Which rounds do you recommend for self defense? Would a upgraded barrel make it shoot faster? Thanks
mine came without sights for some reason...... ugh! posted on FB and seemed another person received one also without sights.
Yeah I recommend reaching out to Byrna customer service. They are very responsive and helpful.
I just received mine and it did not have sights
@@paulallred5426 reach out to Byrna, they said they were sending mine.
Ya, mine came without the sights, reached out to Byrna that day, they had them delivered to me in 3.
nice
Which way do you turn the screw to get more validity?
I'd put the extended mag in the back for a back up mag instead
Mines shoots 18 shots then looses air when pulling trigger and when I go to open the co2 slot a bunch of air piss's out is this normal?????
Sounds fairly normal, I wouldn’t expect much more than 18 shots on a regular Co2
Just to damn expensive!
I too don't like their price point. M17 Milsig/Valkin. $325 I could by 2 and still be under the $749.
exactly hit the point
The price point is absolutely ridiculous and super inflated. That launcher is nothing more than a Tippmann TCR with some Orange colored hardware. If they actually changed anything internally I would be highly surprised.
Ola
Go to amazon to tone down that orange ..Good lord to bright lol
I know for real lol, it’s getting a nice ceracote job soon thanks to @dkspencercustomkinetics
Byrna ,Is a waste of $ ,For rich boys.
What a joke....
How is this different then a tippman TCR? except for the fact byrna is charging over double what the tippman costs.
Nothing...thats the "your money absorbing" secret.Bullshitting people is the new modern.
I do not have one but I would bet just the color scheme. Internal parts are most lilly stock Tippmann design.
Byrna looks to be a company that acquires tech and other companies for there products.
So far from what I can tell the HD launcher was designed in South Africa, and the rifles Tippmann or acquired when they bought Mission. 🤔 so not a lot of original design work, Pepperball has done the same thing.
@@glockasp SDI/Byrna had entered into a working agreement with Kore/Mission/Tippmann regarding the less lethal market back in 2017 (I believe). So, the Mission branded pepper rounds were made in South Africa by SDI. When Kore declared bankruptcy, they sold off the Mission line to SDI/Byrna. Byrna got the TCR and the TMC so far. Salt and Sabre got the Tippmann TiPX/Mission TPR. Pepperball got the Tippmann A5/Mission MLR.
@@juicyfruit6311
Great info on that, thanks 😊
I knew some of that and that might explain why Tippmann does not sell the TCR anymore. Bad move on their part IMHO.
