    My brother is selling an Indigo Blue 2005 Passat TDI GLS wagon (longitudinal drivetrain) with a euro Audi 5 speed manual conversion. This model car was not sold in the USA with a manual). We did the work on the wagon 4 years ago and ended up selling it to him. The 3rd gear syncro is starting to fail and he bought a new Benz, so he's selling it. It has around 135k miles, rebuilt engine, smooth cam, no leaks, Malone stage 2 tune, balance shaft delete, solid mass flywheel. It has the 2.0 pumpa dusse BHW engine, with around 175hp/300tq (stock turbo). I replaced all of the front suspension (Lemforder parts) and installed Koni FHD struts and special order Audi wheels. It drives nice and burns clean. Needs paint, no rust (CA car). Currently in Waukesha WI. Great car to fix up, or swap the BHW into a jeep, etc... as the engine it solid and has very low miles. This engine make a lot more power than the ALH and has stronger internals. Ive had both. He's selling the whole car at a reasonable price, as he's older and having health issues right now. If interested let me know.

      Sounds like a smoking deal! That's pretty far away for us unfortunately 😔 I plan to start doing swaps full time in the near future then I would be free to road trip out and get deals like that! I sure appreciate the offer man.

    That's the dream right there. Late model toyota pickup with an ALH, 5 speed and a custom step bed or some something unique like that

    The v6 drivetrains are mounted further forward than the 4 cylinders for firewall clearance. I think it's 2.5" difference if I remember right.

      Usually the problem with anything 2005 and newer is they do not make an adapter for your transmission. That and controlling the newer automatic transmissions can be next to impossible if they do not make an aftermarket transmission computer.

    Alright another build!! It’s gonna be awesome!
    I finally parted out my 2001 VW Golf and have almost broken even on the car so I basically got the engine for free. I’m gonna start pairing down the wiring harness but I’m having a hard time on where to start first. Do you have any links or tips of where I could get the wiring diagrams to make a standalone harness myself?

    • @TDISwaps

      @@TDISwaps that’s does help! Would they just have a photo album of the wiring diagrams that I could use to make some copies of? As far as I know these dodge Dakota swaps are kind of rare. Unless I’m mistaken my swap will be the 6th tdi swapped Dakota in history?

    I have a 98 ranger that I want to TDi swap. I know ALH is the go to swap, but are there other engines that will work? I have a Golf with the cjaa and it looks quite different that the ALH you have there.

    • @TDISwaps
      @TDISwaps  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      CJAA is a great engine, usually requires more deletes as well as the CP3 swap upgrade along with tuning making it much more costly to swap than the ALH, but more power potential as well. Wiring is more complex and power steering as well as AC and cruise control are a much bigger ordeal but there are ways to do everything.

    • @rsquared9703
      @rsquared9703 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TDISwaps that’s the insight I’m looking for 👍🏻 I’ve been doing my homework and the power steering is the main issue I see. I don’t want to try an electric power steering swap at the same time. Like you said it can all be figured out but it’s more likely I do the ALH. Once I cut my teeth on that then I’ll try something like the CJAA in the future.

    have u ever thought about or tried swapping a crua tdi

    • @TDISwaps
      @TDISwaps  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have looked into it. Not many newer TDIs for sale around me, and the cost to get started with a CR swap is at least double sometimes triple that of a 98-06 build.

    • @ngelemental2274
      @ngelemental2274 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TDISwaps if u had a whole functional car with the crua motor would you still have to buy a bunch of extra stuff to make it work other than the obvious like adapter plates

    • @TDISwaps
      @TDISwaps  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ngelemental2274 I do not trust the cp4 pump in the CRUA so I would do a CP3 pump and delete tune and the starting price for all of that combined is around $2000, I can setup an ALH for less than half that, sometimes under $700 with used parts. Those costs are completely separate from the swap itself

    going to run a stock type converter.. looser or tighter?

    • @TDISwaps
      @TDISwaps  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The stock converter slips to about 1800 RPM which is perfect for this turbo. There aren't many outlets for aftermarket converters on this transmission that I know of

    Follwing this build!! I am importing a double cab Hilux LN106 with a 22RE, they weigh about 3,900lb. I want to swap in a ALH TDI. I am looking for reliable, high MPGs without sacrficing too much performance as this will be my daily. What would you do to the ALH to make it bulletproof (tune, turbo etc)? how would you dress it up? I am frugal lol

    • @TDISwaps
      @TDISwaps  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha importing a Hilux doesn't sound like something a frugal person would do 😂 ALHs are pretty much bulletproof stock and up to 150 HP with no modification besides tuning.
