    Thanks! A couple notes that I had when emulating on my system 55. 1, I need to use the interface module to convert my v-trigger to s-trigger or the notes just stay on regardless of the envelope. so I go from trig to the interface right below to the left of the midi-cv and then go from s-trig out to the mixer mult like you did. the other is that I needed to make sure the control voltages switch four (blue one) was up to work. And then finally the voltage controlled Amp I have set to linear and set to fixed control of 1'ish. I generally have all the notes really low though, I maybe shoudl move the range of the oscillators to 16 or even 8..

      Thanks Josh. You've covered a lot of details here that will be helpful to others. I was primarily focused on the signal path. A couple of notes:
      1) s-trig/v-trig: I didn't need to do the conversion because I have my CM1A MIDI interface to output s-triggers (if you're interested, I have a video on configuring the CM1A).
      2) Control Voltage: Yes, the blue switch must be up to enable the output of the attenuator. I didn't give much attention to the Control Voltages settings (again, focused on patching). This is a handy module. I need to do a short video on it.
      3) VCA Linear/Exponential: Typically, a VCA driven from an envelope is configured for Linear operation. The reason is that the output of the envelope generator is usually exponential. (Note: I usually set the manual control on the VCA to 0. Otherwise, you are likely going to get some bleed through of the signal, even without the envelope gated).

    Thank You! O.Z. Hall. My System 55 arrives from Sweetwater on Friday, the 17th. What extra modules will I need for the Lucky Man patch?

    • @ozhalljr
      @ozhalljr  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Congratulations! The answer to "extra modules" is: None, if you don't have to have glide. I do have glide/lag/slew/portamento patched in from one of the Behringer System 100 modules (see bottom row, second module from left). Check out my video "System 55 - Top 5 Missing Features":

      The only update to that is that the Behringer 1630 Frequency Shifter will function as a Ring Modulator. Also the PP1 works well as a preamp.

      @@robertparenton7470thx for commenting. Enjoy your new system. Also check out my series on the Behringer Victor quad oscillator. It goes well with the System 55.

    Nice presentation O.Z. The MiniMoog is such a powerful synth. The normaled nature of its design belies its inner power and flexibility. I do prefer the modular though. Thanks for another great video. I was wondering how you deal with the low output from the 914 fixed filter bank? I have been wondering the best way to patch it to match oscillator output etc. Any thoughts? Cheers

      Thanks Tony! I have not worked much with the 914 FFB ( not BFF :) ). Honestly, I have not noticed the problem. I think I've done one patch with the 914, but can't remember specifically. Let me know what you come up with.
      Now that you mention it, there's no facility for boosting the signal in the off-the-shelf System 55, other than using a mult to input the same signal several times into a mixer and summing them together. Let me know what you come up with.

      hey, thanks for all the great info. I usually drive the 914 with the aux output on the 921. That gives a hot enough signal to bring up the output of the 914. I will try your idea of multiple to mixer. Cheers@@ozhalljr

    So how would you go about patching the LFO for modulation in this patch?

    • @ozhalljr
      @ozhalljr  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Patch a 921 osc output into the 921A Osc controller as follows:
      921 Osc (LFO mode) Sine wave via Aux Out-->921A Osc Controller, CV input 2.
      Use the Aux Out level for your modulation level.
      Note that in the CM1A, there is no output for the continuous controller #1 (mod wheel), so you can't implement LFO modulation via the wheel with the CM1A.
      Is that enough detail?

    Most of Emerson’s iconic synth solos need portamento or glide… it’s integral to the Emerson sound…
    I wish a glide module had be installed

      I agree. The Behringer 297 works well and the glide is voltage controlled.
