Vista is great for those directx10 games, as XP only supported directx9. The SupremeFX audio card is just a standalone realtek chipset that doesn't have great Creative EAX support, but that's more of an XP era concern. That Xaser case though is a legend. A true monster of a rig! Great Video!
I remember vista, I had it a couple years after launch. I had no complaints about it whatsoever. Big upgrade from windows xp, and far less glitchy than windows 10.
I still have a xaser 3 case but it's black and made from steel. It weighs a tonne compared to the silver aluminium one here. We were selling the cases in 2004/2005 if I remember right and mine came from my workplace without its fan speed controller/temp monitor and front CFL lighting. I was able to RMA a new fan controller from thermaltake
It's crazy how this was entirely acceptable...now pc snobs turn their nose up at anything not running consistently at 120fps and above. 60fps is verboten these days😂
It has turned into a very consumerist market like phones, I remember building pc that was meant to last at least 8 years of good performance but now this newer generation of pc gamers are upgrading yearly like it suppose to be that way…
@@MrPrinceofallsaiyaneh That's always been a part of it, the whales who can throw money around upgrading on a almost yearly basis. 120 fps & above was very much a thing back 10 - 15 years ago as well. Specially for competitive gaming like on cod mw, mw2, quake 3, quake live & several other fps games due to high fps in some cases messing slightly with the physics engines making jumps more consistent & longer for running around on the maps & jumping over & dodging explosions. High end crt monitors did by the 2000's at 640x480 on some do up to 160 hz & at 1024x768 did between 90 - 110 hz.
Eh 1080p wasn't a common resolution, specially not for gaming 1680x1050 or lower was usually the norm which gave more fps at the time, ofc some people still had 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 monitors by 2009, myself included.
Pretty interesting how stable gta iv is on period hardware, I've had much worse experiences on newer and better stuff with tons of stutters and weird issues. Even though it's only 30 fps it stays pretty consistent.
One of my gaming mates back in the day had this exact same case. Can't remember his specs, but like us all back then our machines had 4 SATA 2 HDDs. I think they were 150 or 250GB in size.
Vista was great. I had it in the Ultimate and x64 version. I used it for a looooong while before switching to Win 7 just because some games couldn't bear Vista anymore...
I love this build. 2007 was such a good time in my life. I remember alot of these components

That Thermaltake Case was my first big case upgrade back in the day. What a blast from the past
I jad this same case, really superior quality!
Dream PC back in the day
This is a 2009 build, not 2007.
I had this case, in Blue, the Thermaltake lettering looks nice when it glows
14:04 random screw being like : screw this, I'm on holidays right now ! 😂

I never understood why everyone hated Vista. It worked great for me

gta 4 has an issues with render distance and a few of the details sliders if higher then i think low or medaium it cause hitching
GTX 295 is a card from 2009
and the e8600 is a 2008 cpu
But can it run crysis?
So.. 😮
