Before the production of season 3, some NBC execs told Dan Harmon to tone the show down and make it more grounded to appeal to a "wider audience", spend a little less money and time, and not do so many higher concept episodes like the paintball ones. That translated to Harmon creating that opening musical about everything being less crazy and the Dean constantly saying there wont be any more hijinks... only to have Jeff go crazy and the Dean surrender to things at Greendale not being any different.
The "Behind the Scenes" joke of this episode's intro: the strangely wholesome, out-of-place song gets its lyrics from NBC's feedback notes on how to improve the show. All the stuff about being less crazy and more grounded was the type of thing that Dan Harmon hated hearing, so he included it at the beginning of an episode where Jeff literally loses his mind and attacks the table with an axe.

They announced it and a lot of the actors and actresses confirmed coming back for it. They were supposedly ready to start filming and whatnot right as the writers strike started so it was put on hold and that's why we haven't heard much about it since the announcement.
Williams was well established long before Community. Most of the bigger stars who appeared were. But Williams was in the Wire like a decade or more before he was in Community.

Additionally, at the time, the fans were very concerned about the possibility of the show being cancelled. Being that "flash mobs" was a thing during that time, many flash mobs were made to support/protest against the show being cancelled. Many used signs with the hashtag 6seasonsAndamovie as a good meme/demand of what fans wanted. It stuck and is still a thing lol. We have our 6 seasons and they are now working to make the movie a thing ^^

On the vulture panel Joel Mchale said that monkey gas discussion and little kids chanting "we want drugs" were his favorite moments of the show, and I couldn't agree more. What a show!

Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) loved Community so much after she was told that there was a parody of Doctor Who called Inspector Spacetime. She told this to her co-workers and writers only to get dismissed.
I relate so much to Abed and Eric needing a comfort show to watch. It's great when you have a show that whilst watching an episode makes you forget your problems and life in general. In that moment you're just leaving the show's reality and you have nothing to worry/think about. I felt like Abed after ending How I Met Your Mother and also after ending Community (which is now my favourite sitcom ever). P.S.: The Abed scene in Cougar Town is hilarious

Third season is my favorite one, and arguably the best overral. It has the macgnificent Remedial Chaos Theory, which is probably my favorite episode of the show.
Michael K Williams was a talented actor and attendee of the National Black Theatre. He could dance his ass off and was also a vocal ally to the LGBTQIA community. I was so sad when he died. He was open about his struggles with addiction. In the end, he ingested heroin that was laced with a lethal dose of fentanyl. I believe the people who provided him that drug were charged with manslaughter.

It escalates to the point where they start using “new technology” like wiretaps and computers to catch them in the act. Honestly, I’m underselling the premise, but that’s the gist of the premise.

Cougar Town was on ABC and was canceled after couple of seasons and picked up by TBS. There's a lot from Scrubs that pop up in Cougar Town. But it did have an ending. Also some of Friends cast popped up in it to.
S3 is definitely not the peak lmao. S2 by a long shot. After that everyone as their own opinion, but I think we can all agree on the fact that Season 4 is the worst

He filmed all his scenes as Dryden Voss but they never cgi'd, finished the special effects for his character. SO when they recast they had to get rid of the makeup/cgi.

16:45 it's an amazing strategy, Community had always existed in my Netflix account's perifery and it always looked like a cheesy 2000s high school musical-esque show at the sturface, me not knowing 1 thing about the show. One night I finish watching Seinfeld, and cant find a new thing to watch, and just decide to check community out even though I tought I was gonna dislike it and move on to something different I spent much of the night just going from episode to episode, it was crack cocaine. There's something about this show, it's so erratic, cynical, yet hopeful and good-natured. It's imho the zenith of creativity in TV history. Led by a man, who despite his personal issues and controversies throughout the years, held steadfast for his creation, never surrendered to executives trying to streamline the show into a cookie-cutter sitcom, and, welp, just so happened to have gathered up a cast of legendary talented and incredibly funny people I'd say it's a once in a lifetime phenomenon, I know everyone says this about their favourite show...but I've had a lot of favourite shows, and none sticked as much as Community, not before, not after. Its preserverance after cancelation and firings show the resolve of the fanbase it created. Can't wait for the movie

Season 2 ending on a downer note with Pierce telling everyone that he's done with them, but then just starting S3 telling everyone he's back acting like he didn't cut them out of his life and then being a father figure to Jeff at the end of this episode, definitely feels like a rewrite of the plot to make Chevy happy in order for him to come back.
No order, because it is impossible for me, but the contenders would be Remedial Chaos Theory, Accounting For Lawyers, Pillows and Blankets, Intergluteal Numismatics, Classic American Poultry, Modern Warfare... I just realized I will be here all day if I just keep listing the episodes that at various times were my favorite.
This show is so great. A lesser known but I think a great show like this but in a grocery store, you guys should try Superstore. It's so funny and has 6 seasons

The context of the show in the business world of TV is kind of important. "Six seasons and a movie" became a Community rallying cry in part because the show was on cancellation watch starting late in season 2 and really only kept bleeding viewers. Had NBC been footing most of the bill, it almost certainly would have been cancelled. Because Sony was paying most of the production costs (and retaining DVD/syndication revenue for the future), the show was almost free to NBC and therefore they were willing to keep a critical darling with a small audience. But the show did end up getting put on indefinite hiatus during S3, and the threat of cancellation loomed over everything. Also, at this point, Dan Harmon feuding with Chevy was well know, but his feuding with executives behind the scenes was not. He was taking more producer duties as the Russo brothers were taking on more shows, and episodes routinely were over budget and turned into NBC late. The product was still great, but Harmon made a lot of people angry without making them much money, and it ended up getting him fired from the show he created at the end of the season.

Only one that I know of, the one you mentioned. I believe this was the second occurrence of the line.

Hard to pick a 'best' episode from this series ... but this one is seriously on my top 5.

The context of the show in the business world of TV is kind of important. "Six seasons and a movie" became a Community rallying cry in part because the show was on cancellation watch starting late in season 2 and really only kept bleeding viewers. Had NBC been footing most of the bill, it almost certainly would have been cancelled. Because Sony was paying most of the production costs (and retaining DVD/syndication revenue for the future), the show was almost free to NBC and therefore they were willing to keep a critical darling with a small audience. But the show did end up getting put on indefinite hiatus during S3, and the threat of cancellation loomed over everything.
Also, at this point, Dan Harmon feuding with Chevy was well know, but his feuding with executives behind the scenes was not. He was taking more producer duties as the Russo brothers were taking on more shows, and episodes routinely were over budget and turned into NBC late. The product was still great, but Harmon made a lot of people angry without making them much money, and it ended up getting him fired from the show he created at the end of the season.
