      actually most deaths from cassowary is when you’re crouching or bending down without covering your neck because it jumps and kicks Don so it pushes it’s entire body weight on your body, the first thing it wants to get to is the neck or abdomen. these things can kick hard, so no matter where you’re kicke it’s a broken bone

    Omg, I can't understand the people in the comments. Specifically people saying the people filming it are the parents: The child is LITERALLY across the street. The cassowary sprints to the other side as soon as the child made a noise, scared of him. Then she screams louder and the cassowary jumps back and run away.
    I don't think the people filming are the parents at all. Nor that they knew the child was there to begin with. Shortly after all of that happened the video cuts, the only movements the filmers made during it was to take a closer look at what happened, and yet people are concluding that people slimply "let" the bird attack the girl while filming. In reality, I personally think they were shocked and when they realize, the bird had already finished the attack.

    • @FS-qk5uq
      @FS-qk5uq ปีที่แล้ว +35

      It's because they're keyboard warriors who are delusional about how they'll act in same situations. You see this all the time in videos of something dangerous, passing judgment and being all If I was there blah blah blah 😑 in reality they'll probably be the biggest cowards.

    • @catodes1295
      @catodes1295 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @Hamter Uh yeah because they were recording the bird? And already had the camera out when the incident happen and recorded the whole thing? Quit shooting the messenger dude. Just because he/she recorded the video doesn't mean it was the person's fault someone got attacked. Also by the time the person starts to move forward the bird's already retreating and we don't see the rest

    • @catodes1295
      @catodes1295 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @Hamter Of course the camera moved, she was moving to see what was happening while she was still holding the phone. You saw her moving forward then the bird stopped and ran. The clip then cuts. We don't know what happens afterward.

    • @catodes1295
      @catodes1295 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @Hamter Of course the camera was pointed at the scene, it was still recording when she went to see what was going on. She didn't need to react because the threat was already running away. Also the video cuts before we see more. We don't have any more details on what happened. It could be what you say, it could be what I say. Either way, we don't know the all the details of the event so we can't determine anything concrete

    They aren't even as dangerous as people claim. Only one recorded Human death, and that was of a boy actively trying to beat the Cassowary to death with a club. Over 70% of the other attacks were people injured trying to feed them, and those were injuries from the beak, not being kicked. Sure their feet are powerful, but they don't run around trying to karate kick people. People just running with a few videos on here spreading misinformation.

    My blood froze when I saw that bird attack that child!😱💦 I believe the cassowary may not intend to attack, but the girl's panic could make him aggressive. Thankfully, her scream startled the cassowary and he preferred to flee.

    • @Khenfu_Cake
      @Khenfu_Cake ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cassowaries only attack if they feel threatened. They aren't the bloodthirsty killing machines people constantly make them out to be. F.ex. there's literally only been two recorded deaths to cassowaries in the past hundred years and they both involved the cassowary feeling threatened.
      I suspect what happened in the video was the girl coming too close to the bird for comfort and the cassowary got startled and did a more common "back off!" attack and then ran off when she started screaming.
      Look up videos of cassowaries actually attacking and there's a whole lot more lifting and slashing its clawed feet accompanied by hissing. You will definitely know if a cassowary has decided to actually attempt to slash your gut open.

    • @matthewclaridge8063

      G'day bud,
      Even though I'm well aware that trying to tame a wild (as opposed to captive raised) cassowary is a HORRIBLE idea. There's still that bit of me that wants to..😂🤞.
      But you might want to come up with a new method because crouching or laying down is the worst thing you can do when confronted by a cassowary.
      You're just making it easier for easyer for it to kick the sh+t out of you.
      In fact being on the ground is what contributed to the two known recorded deaths that we have on record (well the ones we know about at least 🤫)
      One was some dude from Florida who triped and fell and the other was a hunter who was set up in a prone position.
      So yeah not a good idea....
      Infact when i saw that little girl hit hhe deck, I was like Oof that not good...
