The legs on the adult are like dinosaurs. I almost got between an adult and juvenile, as the juvenile was in the forest and I didn’t realise it was there, and the thought of what those legs could do is not nice.
That's why we talk about the extinction of the NON AVIAN dinos because the avian dinos survived and became birds. Interestingly though ratite ancestors would have been small and able to fly. It's a case of evolution rhyming where they diverged to fill different niches that dinosaurs previously filled and that mamals hadn't. So even though they share far more in common with a sparrow than any non avian dinosaurs they ended up looking like one.

At the end the camera follows them to show a street view. These birds weren't captive, they were in someone's front yard. Definitely dangerous, but the situation is no different from a deer coming into the suburbs.

Infact, there is only 1 documented death caused by a cassowary attack-in 1931 2 brothers fround a cassowary in there yard and decided to beat it up with clubs. One of them was kicked in the neck. But don't be alarmed, these are animals-not monsters

They're too small, even if you're 100 lbs only, their mass can't take you. Now if they were about 7x as big? Maybe. They'll eat people like insects by then, however.
Quite the opposite, really. That was just a male and his babies. Cassowaries live alone until they mate, then when the eggs are laid, the female leaves and the male incubates them alone. When the eggs hatch, the male raises the chicks until they're old enough to survive on their own
