I think my favorite thing about Catra is that she is genuinely the most catlike character, in the entire history of cartoon catgirls. Stupid, cruel, short-sighted, destructive, spiteful, and you still want to rub her head and call her a sweetie.
Catra is my fav character because I understand why she feels hurt and not only that but I don’t know Glimmer used to be tied with Catra but that might change in the next season but I think they might change in season 5 with Catra so YAYAYA
Also, I kind of noticed Hordac and Catra have more in common than I thought. Catra continuously makes horrible decisions because of an abusive mother figure she hates and whose love she simultaneously craves. Hordac makes horrible decisions because of an abusive father figure he hates and whose love he simultaneously craves.
And yet neither of them have the strength or wisdom to break the cycle. I miss when evil was unabashedly evil. Now every villain has sob tragic backstory or is missunderstood.
Also, they both seem to have one sole person they can trust and open up to, (Entrapta for Hordak, and Scorpia for Catra), but for both of them, they took this relationship for granted, and their last encounter with them was a negative one, unfortunately. They were also both deeply wounded by Scorpia and Entrapta's "betrayal."
I'd leave her too. Her saying get over your life being a lie, start murdering innocents, on the grounds you should stay with her because that is what she wants? Just a few episodes in and she already gave three reasons that by themselves would be enough to send most sane people off. For bonus points all at the same time. Some may say she said she would stay with her forever. holding a childhood promise over someone when you know their life has been a lie on the grounds they should just conform to this new life. that is the opposite of helping her case.
People really need to stop being so nervous of Entrapdak. Firstly, Hordak's age is immaterial, because he was born as an adult and I suspect that he's barely matured since his creation. Since Entrapta is a consenting adult, saying that the age difference makes their relationship creepy is just inventing problems for the sake of having something to fuss over. Immortality throws most of our age-related preconceptions out the window. Secondly, Entrapta can take care of herself. She's the smartest character on the show, she's a confirmed escape artist, her hair gives her a massive advantage in a fight, and she understands Hordak's weaknesses more than well enough that she could take him down if she had to. The Horde may have captured her, but they NEVER could have held her -- if she'd really wanted to leave, she could have and would have. Sure, Catra defeats her in the season 3 finale, but only by attacking from behind when she isn't expecting it. Thirdly, for all of her friendliness, Entrapta is firmly amoral. She doesn't bat an eye at the Horde's evil actions as long as she can still do her science; she only starts to care about destruction when it starts to hurt people she knows personally. This relationship is not an evil overlord taking advantage of a pure helpless princess who doesn't know any better. This relationship is two highly capable, morally questionable individuals with similar interests who are perfectly suited to fill each other's emotional needs.
A lot of people also say that entrapdak is the show's way of saying "Love fixes all Hordak's gonna be so redeemed!" when in reality like you said, Entrapta's pretty amoral, and she isn't "fixing" Hordak, she's pretty chill with the way he is, for the most part, and by being around a person that doesn't constantly judge and berate him (seemingly the way that Prime would've), Hordak kinda learns (whoops, s4 happened, guess it's "learned" now) how to be better on his own, with support from Entrapta. I mean, obviously there are hiccups, as there are in everything. He has a shitty control over his emotions and has a tendency to snap to anger or frustration, but I would imagine it's probably because, as a clone, he probably never was taught how to control his emotions. (Especially with that handy dandy neck port that Prime can plug into that allows him to reset the clones if they're acting undesirably. Why would you teach someone to gain control if you can force them to without backlash?) People like to compare them to Beauty and the Beast, which is probably where they get the idea that she will "fix" him, but I don't really think the comparison stretches to that extent. Idk I've read a lot of different thoughts about entrapdak and Hordak in general.
So you're telling me that someone who has trained literally all his life would be beaten by a person who uses her hair instead of her legs. To be specific, the character designer said she was somewhere in the same age range they were, so late 20s/early 30s. Though, actually, most of the she-ra cast is older than people assume them to be, by the sound of it.

As someone who hasn't actually watched She-Ra and has just watched through this series twice, I've figured out part of why Entrapta is my favourite character from the show I still need to see; Basically every scene she's in (based on what's shown in these videos) she's using her hair as a limb in some way, which if one had magical prehensile hair/ mage hands, yh that'd be in use all the time.
To be fair to Hordak and Entrapta as a ship, while Hordak does yell a lot, these instances aside from the couple of times he tells her to get out of his sanctum are more venting of his general frustrations about himself and difficulties with the portal machine than directed at her because of things she did. It's not behavior I'm excusing, of course- it's an unhealthy reaction and someone like Entrapta who has difficulty with people clearly doesn't appreciate it- it just isn't necessarily an abusive technique he is employing to put her down or to assert his power over her. And on that subject, he really doesn't have any power over her at all. He hasn't from the moment she broke into his sanctum. Everything she has done for him and the Horde as a whole has been of her own accord. Theirs is still a pretty equal power dynamic, and Hordak seems fine with it. He respects her contributions to their project and insists that she isn't the failure she believed herself to be, even if it didn't perturb her. Entrapta, meanwhile, sees no problem with his imperfections but still builds his new suit to help improve his confidence and quality of life. They got incredible work done together and would have gladly continued working on the portal project together had Catra not been all "yo what up I got sword." I understand the trepidation toward it in a couple ways- we don't really KNOW how old Hordak is but "significantly older than Entrapta" is still probably a safe bet. But as far as their dynamic goes, I'd honestly put quite a number of relationships in the show down as more abusive than theirs. Most of which involve Catra and Shadow Weaver, natch. Speaking of Catra, that thing about her really needing to be called out on all her crap stuck out to me. Wonder if that sorta thing is in the cards. Maybe? Regardless of ships and cats, I still really enjoyed this video! Looking very forward to the season 4 one.

Season 1 was a good start, season 2 is where I got slightly invested, but season 3 (2.5) was where I got hooked! So much development and pay off for certain characters. A great season finale. And the build up to later seasons. 😍Ah, so good! Season 4 was just as good as 2 & 3, with the fun/one off adventure episodes mixing well into the overarching plot. And the Season finale was as good as season 3’s, leaving me wanting season 5 badly. She-ra needs more credit then it deserves, cause this is the first action cartoon (western, not anime) that I’ve seen with a primarily female cast that’s really good and isn’t pandering about “girl power”.
Not really 1 is too much to recruiting to actually develop them beyond 1 episode and wasted filler episodes like prom 2 is too short because its not a season. Ends on a random note 3 tries more plot but falls flat by dumb decisions 4 in turn tries more but devalues the mom, ships hordak to entrapta too much, double trouble, and musical number for no reason Dragon prince tops this easily
gbdeck200 I know She-ra isn’t the best action/adventure cartoon (on Netflix), but it’s pretty good for what it’s going for and it grabbed my attention. Like I stated before, this is the first female action cartoon that I’ve seen *that’s enjoyable to watch* and isn’t super in your face about girl power or it’s diversity. Dragon Prince is a good show too, but remember it also had a slow start. Most of it’s world building didn’t get fleshed out until season 2, with most of season 1 just being an standard start of ‘find a McGuffin, return the mcguffin’ adventure. Dragon Prince, She-ra, and Voltron (great start, mediocre ending) are the top three action/adventure cartoons on Netflix in my opinion.

I just loved the look Adora gave Catra when she closed the portal, it feels like she had kept seeing Catra as her friend, as someone she could reach before she went too far, but now seems like she had finally crossed the line for Adora. And Catra seems surprised and hurt by that look, so maybe she had felt that too.

When I think about it... Angella's not only trapped in the portal for all her life, but for all of eternity, because she's immortal. She wouldn't even be able to like, end herself in there- she'd be stuck for EVER.
Honestly the Sorlock is not a bad combination, if Glimmer is 2-3 levels of Warlock with the rest in Sorcerer she got a good thing going on. Being able to use Eldritch Blast, which she can upgrade with Invocations and then use the Quicken Spell: Metamagic for damage that rivals Fighters like Bow. She can use her Warlock spell slots to refresh her Sorcery Points with a short rest, of course she won't have higher level spell slots that you would otherwise have. Glimmer is making a tricky commitment, but I think she can pull it off.
You know what's funny about that? Noelle Stevenson literally modeled Glimmer after her first (obviously self-insert) D&D character: A Tiefling Warlock with severe mommy issues and no clue of how to use Misty Step properly.

Shadow weaver, Catra, Entrapta, Light Hope, and Glimmer.😓 I mean.... Adora has a lost family, responsibility of She-ra, the crippling fear of hurting people, the trust issues that keep building up, living under the pressure that she killed Angella (it was her responsibility so her can’t help it) and such. She doesn’t tell people about her pain. Her *friends* are now consisting of a few people. And she got over it / the constant *you’er to blame* from Catra and now Glimmer. As someone who hasn't actually watched She-Ra and has just watched through this series twice, I've figured out part of why Entrapta is my favourite character from the show I still need to see; Basically every scene she's in (based on what's shown in these videos) she's using her hair as a limb in some way, which if one had magical prehensile hair/ mage hands, yh that'd be in use all the time.
Well just to say it, Angella is never mentioned once in season 5 and stays trapped forever. Absolutely no follow up

To be fair to Hordak and Entrapta as a ship, while Hordak does yell a lot, these instances aside from the couple of times he tells her to get out of his sanctum are more venting of his general frustrations about himself and difficulties with the portal machine than directed at her because of things she did. It's not behavior I'm excusing, of course- it's an unhealthy reaction and someone like Entrapta who has difficulty with people clearly doesn't appreciate it- it just isn't necessarily an abusive technique he is employing to put her down or to assert his power over her. And on that subject, he really doesn't have any power over her at all. He hasn't from the moment she broke into his sanctum. Everything she has done for him and the Horde as a whole has been of her own accord. Theirs is still a pretty equal power dynamic, and Hordak seems fine with it. He respects her contributions to their project and insists that she isn't the failure she believed herself to be, even if it didn't perturb her. Entrapta, meanwhile, sees no problem with his imperfections but still builds his new suit to help improve his confidence and quality of life. They got incredible work done together and would have gladly continued working on the portal project together had Catra not been all "yo what up I got sword." I understand the trepidation toward it in a couple ways- we don't really KNOW how old Hordak is but "significantly older than Entrapta" is still probably a safe bet. But as far as their dynamic goes, I'd honestly put quite a number of relationships in the show down as more abusive than theirs. Most of which involve Catra and Shadow Weaver, natch.
Speaking of Catra, that thing about her really needing to be called out on all her crap stuck out to me. Wonder if that sorta thing is in the cards. Maybe?

Agreed! At first I thought their relationship was abusive, but then I came to realise that though Hordak is aggressive, he actually treats Entrapta pretty well. I'm now a big fan of the ship! 😁
I don't like it. But it's hard to argue against the fact that Entrapdak is the healthiest relationships in the show, next to Bow's dads.

I’ve always thought of her as ace with romantic feelings for him, but your opinion is a great option too.
Season 1 was a good start, season 2 is where I got slightly invested, but season 3 (2.5) was where I got hooked! So much development and pay off for certain characters. A great season finale. And the build up to later seasons. 😍Ah, so good!
Season 4 was just as good as 2 & 3, with the fun/one off adventure episodes mixing well into the overarching plot. And the Season finale was as good as season 3’s, leaving me wanting season 5 badly.
She-ra needs more credit then it deserves, cause this is the first action cartoon (western, not anime) that I’ve seen with a primarily female cast that’s really good and isn’t pandering about “girl power”.

2 is too short because its not a season. Ends on a random note
3 tries more plot but falls flat by dumb decisions
4 in turn tries more but devalues the mom, ships hordak to entrapta too much, double trouble, and musical number for no reason

gbdeck200 I know She-ra isn’t the best action/adventure cartoon (on Netflix), but it’s pretty good for what it’s going for and it grabbed my attention.
Like I stated before, this is the first female action cartoon that I’ve seen *that’s enjoyable to watch* and isn’t super in your face about girl power or it’s diversity.
Dragon Prince is a good show too, but remember it also had a slow start. Most of it’s world building didn’t get fleshed out until season 2, with most of season 1 just being an standard start of ‘find a McGuffin, return the mcguffin’ adventure.
Dragon Prince, She-ra, and Voltron (great start, mediocre ending) are the top three action/adventure cartoons on Netflix in my opinion.

I just loved the look Adora gave Catra when she closed the portal, it feels like she had kept seeing Catra as her friend, as someone she could reach before she went too far, but now seems like she had finally crossed the line for Adora. And Catra seems surprised and hurt by that look, so maybe she had felt that too.

When I think about it... Angella's not only trapped in the portal for all her life, but for all of eternity, because she's immortal. She wouldn't even be able to like, end herself in there- she'd be stuck for EVER.
Glimmer took a level in Warlock
Honestly the Sorlock is not a bad combination, if Glimmer is 2-3 levels of Warlock with the rest in Sorcerer she got a good thing going on. Being able to use Eldritch Blast, which she can upgrade with Invocations and then use the Quicken Spell: Metamagic for damage that rivals Fighters like Bow. She can use her Warlock spell slots to refresh her Sorcery Points with a short rest, of course she won't have higher level spell slots that you would otherwise have. Glimmer is making a tricky commitment, but I think she can pull it off.

Noelle Stevenson literally modeled Glimmer after her first (obviously self-insert) D&D character: A Tiefling Warlock with severe mommy issues and no clue of how to use Misty Step properly.

I mean she (Catra) was grown up as shadow weaver kept shoving down her throat that Adora was better, yet they have near equal skill, like Adora trained and Catra didn’t take it seriously...and still managed to be better than Adora (there are more examples it the book) And I think Adora should be free from friends because everyone she’s ever trusted has brought her down.... Shadow weaver, Catra, Entrapta, Light Hope, and Glimmer.😓 I mean.... Adora has a lost family, responsibility of She-ra, the crippling fear of hurting people, the trust issues that keep building up, living under the pressure that she killed Angella (it was her responsibility so her can’t help it) and such. She doesn’t tell people about her pain. Her *friends* are now consisting of a few people. And she got over it / the constant *you’er to blame* from Catra and now Glimmer. I don’t know.....I’m like, Adora’s twin without crushes 🤷🏻♀️
