    Episode 2 Coming 8/28!
In the late 1980s, style and fashion met the custom truck world with the new Chevrolet CK truck introduced for 1988. Soon, the Sport Truck movement was born thanks to pioneering companies and customizers like Belltech, Boyd Coddington, Pete Santini, Thom Taylor, Steve Stanford as well as Truckin' and Sport Truck magazines.

The change over from square body to the next gen was the most drastic change of body style in trucks of any era or brand. It was like GM advanced decades in one year. Even today those late 80s trucks look modern, especially when restored.

Awesome content. I lived this era through magazines in Florida, all the while stuck in the mini-truck world. Now that I am older, its all C10s and OBSs layed out in my driveway. Saw the tribute truck at SEMA last year and it was beautiful... brought a tear to my eye. There is no school like the old school!!! Keep the OBS content coming - we cant get enough!

I do still remember this Sport Truck era , I would never ever forget it , in Brazil we did have huge pickup truck culture in the late 70’s , 80’s and phased out in the middle 90’s but l do remember when Brazil opened the imports and free tax on imported vehicles from USA 🇺🇸 I saw tonnes of cool USA trucks and custom billet wheels and roll pans big 295-50-15 BF/G’s it was awesomest time ever , Brazil was flooded with the ‘88-98 C/K , 3500 dually GMC’s , SS-10 , Sonomas , Sierras , Silverados , and then Dodge redesigned they Dodge Ram , and I still remember the very first time I saw a black 92 aero front F-150 FlareSide with windmill chromed wheels man it was pickup truck heaven , to this date I regard that era 87-96 with the best looking and most original design trucks , unless you were there you wouldn’t understand what was the feeling to see those truck for the very first time , this guy I knew he’s father owned a construction business he bought a brand new 1990 454SS black with red velour and those chromed rally sport wheels with white lettering fat tires Omg I went nuts when I saw that SS454 For the first time , I still remember that twin exhaust curving sideways right behind the rear wheel thumping that 7.4 litres big block , man it was one of the most amazing car culture I can ever remember, I used to see the wildest Chevy , GMC , Ford and Dodges everywhere some had insane graphics, not forgetting the Choo-Choo and Mark lll conversions with those big 15-10 billet wheels , yes this Sport Truck will come back strong again like the Billy Ray Cyrus Mullet !
I’ve got a Bumpside Bronco /SR country I am looking for inspiration for a crazy wilderness colours and graphics , I wanna drive something 90’s style with shock absorbers boots green / pink / turquoise/ and splattered loudly multi colours all around , LONG LIVE TO SPORT TRUCK CULTURE FEVER REBOOT !

This right here my shit!! I have had at least a dozen of these trucks, all have been slammed!! 4/6 and a few 5/7 on either 20’s or 22’s. I was in high school in the 90’s, I was the only kid in a farm town that had a lowered truck and Truckin/Sport Truck magazines falling out the door!! This truck made the market, can’t wait for the next episode!!

I grew up with obs chevys. My mom owned a 1991 Cheyenne 1500 4x4 with a 5 speed and a built 350 and my dads work truck was a 1993 GMC Sierra 2500 with a 5 speed. And now I bought myself a 1996 GMC Sierra 1500 shortbed. It’s a nice little truck. Can’t wait to build it.

I am a 90s baby. I grew up looking at the GMOBS trucks of course there were always c10s, apaches, 3100s and stuff but the OBS was the truck that looked like it was designed for this lifestyle and aftermarket. When i saw a black obs on the dragstrip i knew i had to have one. Dropped SWB on those wheels. Ive been hooked ever since. Im in my late 20s now and i have 2. Still always looking for more lol.

I don't remember these trucks being that popular when they first hit the streets. I liked them myself, but I lived in a small town in Middle TN and I heard people say they were too rounded and too nice for a truck. Many people hated the lack of vent windows. I remember everybody seemed to hate the lift up flush door handles. "They're too much like a car!" Maybe it was small town country people and farmers who didn't like them. We moved to Murfreesboro, TN in 1990 and I saw tons of these GMT-400s (I hate the OBS nickname) running around. These trucks were a big thing with the custom lowrider crowd. I know I wanted one even though I'm a Mopar guy.
I told some of my friends 5 years ago that they'd better get one of these trucks now because the values are going to rise. I wish I'd have listened to myself. I'm hoping the popularity of these trucks runs over to the 2nd generation Rams. I have a lowered 1998 Dodge Ram SS/T that I bought new. People seem to love it when I take it out. Maybe it's because I've kept it nice and nobody else did and its rare to see a nice one. I'm sure if you had a similar condition GMT-400 sitting next to my truck, nobody would notice the Ram. 😅
