2005 had some great football games both in College and in the pro level. Texas vs Ohio St USC vs Notre Dame Texas vs USC National Championship Colts vs Bengals Chargers vs Colts (Chargers end Colts undefeated season bid in The RCA dome ) There’s a handful of other memorable games.
When I was in middle school I couldn’t stand Robison for getting that fumble. Then he got drafted by the Vikings and was a stud. Now he’s basically a spokesperson for them.
This buckeye team was even better than the 06 squad that went unbeaten in the regular season on its way to the title game. Just ran into maybe the greatest Texas team ever, and one of the greatest Joe Pa teams of all time in the toughest environment in college football, a night game white out
Yeah, I thought this 2 loss Bucks team was Tressel's best, just a ridiculously good year of football in college that year.. Damn shame he couldn't get the QB sorted in time for this game. Even still, Hamby catches that I think they win.
@@alexdaniel8873maybe. They deserved to lose tho. Wayyyy too many field goal attempts even outside of that drive. Can't have that against a team that good in Texas
Ohio State LIKELY wins the game if Tressel didn't decide to play musical quarterbacks and stayed with the following year's Heisman trophy winner Troy Smith.
Tressel was so damn conservative. I know OSU fans love him, and I did as well, but dude just didn’t play to win later in his tenure, he’d run the ball while only up by 3 in the 4th quarter than punt. That kind of football doesn’t work nowadays. Shoulda started smith.

I know your comment was two years ago but I think this'll years Ohio State defense is right up there as well, currently the #1 total defense in the country.
Uh, most definitely not. This game boosted his candidacy tremendously. It was his poor showing in the Texas A&M game coupled with Bush’s performance against Fresno State that did him in.
Troy Smith was serving a suspension for some bullshit NCAA rules violation from 2004 if he played the whole game I think they could have won this game after early momentum OSU buckled down you could feel the spark when Troy came in the best and only Heisman Trohy winning QB in Buckeye history!!
It gets overlooked because of how good the USC/Texas game was, but this was a magnificent game in its own right.
Both those teams defenses were insane that year. Buckeye fan here, but hats off to Texas. What a game.
I still have nightmares about Hawk, Carpenter, and Schlegel. What a monstrous group of LBs.
Agree…these two teams could play 10 times and win/loss would probably would be even. Texas was just a bit better that day.
I was hoping you would do this one eventually. Hell of a game.

That ND vs SC was one of my all time fav
Chiefs vs Cowboys
Broncos vs Giants
Ohio State at Penn State
Auburn at Georgia
NFL talent all over the field in this game
Bruh, this is a college game. 🤦
@@barryallen871 no kidding... a lot of them were drafted... didn't say it was an NFL game... just commenting on how good the players were
nice reading comprehension lol @@barryallen871
I miss hearing Brent Musberger call Texas games.
What an insane amount of NFL talent on the field at once. I forgot how ridiculous OSU's WRs we're that year. The 05 defense was no joke
12:08 Teddy 🤦🏻♂️
How do you not house that kickoff?!?! You got tripped up by the kicker ??

Strongly agree. And I think this OSU team would have handled PSU on a neutral field.

So much talent on the field that day. What a gsme
Those two defenses... man. How did Ohio State start every drive at the 40 or 50 yard line and only come away with 22 points
i think all 11 defensive starters for tx went on too play in the nfl some of the back ups too.
@@ZeroG Cuz the wrong QB started!
That was the best defense Texas played that year for sure

Love the videos keep it up! Any chance you have Wisconsin-Michigan st, the first ever big ten title game?
Already did it. th-cam.com/video/gPa3mfzFb1I/w-d-xo.html

Never understood inserting Zwick back into the game.
Whatever the reason, after this game, Ohio State never made that mistake again.
Still haven’t forgiven Tressel for that 🤦🏾♂️

Mangold, Hawk, Young, Carpenter, Holmes, Ginn Jr. , good lawd
That ref was in his feelings at the end, that was definitely a td
IM NOT EVEN AN OHIO STATE FAN BUT IF ZWICK DOESN'T PLAY THIS GAME IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT
Yes.
I watched this game live 😂😂😂 getting old 😂
I honestly feel Ohio state would have won it that year if smith started
Man I miss the old OSU defenses…
I know your comment was two years ago but I think this'll years Ohio State defense is right up there as well, currently the #1 total defense in the country.
Greatest team ever
Those big shoulder pads
Vince Young flick of the wrist!
Might be a stretch to say this, but I think this was the game where Vince Young lost the Heisman trophy.
It was the a&m game. He had a mediocre game when Bush went off vs Fresno St.
Uh, most definitely not. This game boosted his candidacy tremendously. It was his poor showing in the Texas A&M game coupled with Bush’s performance against Fresno State that did him in.
UT best season ever. 🤘 hook em.

Brutal
Might have been targeting 😂
Zwick and Hamby's fault the bucks lost this game. Can't drop balls. And Tressel should've just stuck with one QB.

Vince Young’s knee was down in the natty
If Troy Smith played this whole game OSU would have won and played USC for the title later that year
Penn State had something to say about that.
If
we lost to penn state the following week.
How the hell do you know besides that OSU got spanked the next week by Penn State.
Yep. And if Ryan Hamby could catch
Really bad recap.
