I have a 15 year beard thar touches my belt buckle, for the best results ( quit shaving and quit trimming !!!!! ) don't cut a neck line if you want a thick full beard, and as far as cheek lines go don't cut them for the first year, get used to the fact that your beard. "WILL" go through stages and it. "WILL" look like shit, but perseverance "WILL" pay off, if you can get through these things you "WILL" have success, i bet any man with a big beard would totally agree with this, now let's see how tough and patient you really are and grow that beard and quit whining about it lol ( good luck guys ) 👍🏆.

Love your approach to growing a big beard. I'm 23 months into mine, about 9 inches, or almost 23 cm. I've done a couple small trims, probably about an inch or so, 3 - 4 cm. So, I want the 30+ cm / 12 inch beard.
    Keep up the encouraging videos!

Except for my 24 year marriage, growing this beard is my biggest commitment. I'm at 4.5 years of growth. One trim 3 years ago. Mine is almost as long as yours. My mustache grows at a sales pace. Because it take so long. I'll never cut it.

Great beard bro. My best beard was about 35CM in about 28 months (I trimmed some times). Unfortunately I shaved of. Now my beard is about 20CM in 13 months untouched. For me is easier now because I already know how to take care, but your videos is helpfull to inspire-me to surpass myself. (Sorry for my english, I'm not a english native speaker)

I'm about 2 months in since I left my job I had to shave for in may. Ive got about a solid inch but I'm not measuring. My biggest hertle is when it gets longer it curles up and turns into a giant bush so I'm hoping this time around I'll keep up on combing and basic maintenance to help it grow a bit straighter

I am 55 from 35 to 45 I had a goatee then at 46 I went with a short beard cut on a 1 or 2 with clippers. I stopped trimming it in August it’s about 2 1/2” now and really thick mostly white I am a hairy beast lol I look like a Sasquatch with my shirt off, my barber said I have a back sweater if I didn’t shave my neck there would be solid hair from my face to my chest, and it’s no where as thick as it was when I was in my 30’s.

Just had a wet shave after 2&1/2 years with trimming, that's the big no no, just let it grow out and tidy up the lines.
Got to my mid chest twice in that time so would have been to my belly button I guess, I look 10 years younger and due my next shave at 40, 5 years time lol.
When I'll look 25 again haha, hope everyone has a good day.

I’m on 3 years right now. I completely shaved to get my neck tatted, I had about 2 years worth of growth when I did shave. Decided to go for the 5 year myself. I went to the barber to get cleaned up and he chopped about 3 inches off about a 2 years ago it was upsetting I only wanted the ends cleaned up. Haven’t trimmed it up or anything since.

To each his own, but the only reason I want a beard is to keep my face warm in the winter and it only needs to be 1/2 inch for that. After 1 inch it drives me crazy and I have to trim it to 1/2 inch and repeat until spring when I can gladly loose it.

I noticed beard growers often grow their first beard, love it, and then they invent some stupid and/or cringeworthy reason to shave it off, deeply regret it, and then regrow.
Big beard growers seem to do that too, and on the second time around do a far better job upkeeping it with oils and other stuff. My first long beard used to get washed in grocery store bar soap!

I've had a long beard for 15 years, the problem is I always end up having to cut a fair bit off at some point due to thinning. I cut my beard in Sept. and it still doesn't look like it's regained any ground. it's still long, but not nearly as long and awesome as it was. I've been using beard shampoo every other day for a few years and I'm starting to wonder if this might be a detriment to the growth and quality of my beard. I don't know if I'm just being impatient and or insecure but I'm definitely going to try washing my beard 1-2 times a week as opposed to 3-4 times a week and see if that makes a difference.

Interesting comment, actually I'm in the same boat as you, having lots of transparency from the very bottom of my chin. I watched Dan C Bearded video "Transparency trim" and it changed my way to trim.
Now I just trim slightly every three or four months those transparency from the very bottom of the chin (less than an inch and sometimes an inch of trimming) without touching my neckline, those neck beards are importants . But I noticed when I trim gently the transparency from the very bottom of my chin it brings back volume, length, and it grow super faster than ever when you trim the transparency of the points every 3 or 4 months.

It takes patience and time to grow a beard said Greg Berzinsky but what he said is true. Facial hair will grow fuller as you get older. Always remember that. The older you get the fuller the beard will grow. Not every single man can grow a full beard. Some shave it of, some have a beard transplants and some use the beard roller (Derma roller). It’s genetics. Whatever facial hair you can grow in some places then rock what you got. I can only grow a Van Dyke beard and a bit of sideburns but I’ll be growing a full big bushy two year growth length beard using the beard roller. I know, I said I’ll be using the beard roller. So much people hate the beard roller because they say stuff like “It doesn’t work. It doesn’t do anything. It’s gonna give you pimples. It’s a gimmick. You either got the follicles or not”. Don’t listen to them. If anyone wants to use it then that’s fine. It’s up to them not the others. The beard roller gets sooo much hate but I don’t hate it. Some people hate it and some people like it

Skincare is INCREDIBLY important, not just for beards. A lot of men are scared to truly take care of their bodies, for fear of being “feminine” (whatever the hell that means) and then complain when their bodies don’t cooperate. Groom yourself. Keep yourself clean and healthy. And TAKE DAMN CARE OF YOUR SKIN.

Brill video, thank you for posting! I was wondering just now, with your comments on skin and hydration, about whether I should take extra action. My hair grows fast but I have very bad eczema, which seems to carry on to my hair as well. Do you think it would be advisable to simply use more oils and the like when looking after it? I have a lot of trouble with split ends, which I'm pretty sure comes down to not having enough moisture in the hair, though I drink a lot of water. Thanks!

I dont know how to explain it, but I’ve been growing my beard for 6 or 7 months and haven’t cut it at all. The bottom of my beard looks fine, but the sides and the mustache are just sticking out in all directions. My mustache doesn’t even look like a mustache, it just blends in with the beard, whereas yours in the video looks completely separate. Yours looks like a bunch of neat hairs going straight up and down. Mine stick out in all directions and constantly get in my mouth. It can’t be that they’re just too long because your mustache goes our way farther than mine. I just don’t know what to do to get it looking more defined like yours and others I see.

Buy a detangler brush. Use beard oil right out of the shower in the morning. A little beard balm for hold when you leave for the day. Brush your beard in the direction you want if to grow. At night before bed ,use some beard butter. The longer you wait and let the beard grow, the easier it is to shape. You need to have something to work with. A few months growth isn't much. Give it more time. Leave the scissors in the drawer! No trimming for at least 12 months! At 66,I think I got the hang of it. Good luck Brother🧔 .

11 months in, 14 inches long. Key to growing beard hair is to think like a man. The beard is a reflection of how upset you are that you cannot solve all the problems of the world, and how much you care. Edit: Also, after the above is said, water. LOTS of water. If you drink or smoke.. dehydration is your worst enemy, and the most common cause of early grey/white hairs.

  • @5688gamble
    @5688gamble 3 ปีที่แล้ว

I grew out my goatee, but only around my chin, decided just to see how long the beard can get, it's been 2 months and already there is a fair bit of length on my jaw, side burns and the ends of my moustache, and that's from clean shaving, I am hoping that the hair on my lower jaw will grow longer than the chin as at 2 years it only just reaches the bottom of my neck in a normal position, though I can easily feel it rubbing on my chest when I tilt my head. But I know the chin can be one of the slowest areas with a relatively short terminal length, mind you if it gets even as long as my chin hari is now, it's probably make quite a striking beard anyway. I know how long it can take, both through my chin and having grown my head hair out in the past too. It's not the itchiness that bothers me growing hair out, that is minor and mostly vanishes after a few weeks, it's when it reaches that unruly length where it just looks wild, before it's long enough to lay down, I know that a long beard can be unruly, but the in between stage just has you looking like a hedgehog with stray hairs puffing out everywhere, and I wouldn't want to try gelling it down or using straighteners, certainly not at this stage as I want it to remain healthy, Just keep conditioning it and running a brush through it occasionally I suppose, and see what happens. Doesn't seem like that long since I started on my chin anyway.

You'll never keep a long beard in place in the wind unless you glue it. I personally use Braw Beard butter so I can shape it back into place when I get inside. Or if I'm out for a long duration, I tie it down with a beard band.

Great vid and great beard mate 👍🏻 I’m currently on 2 years (about 7 inches) and I’m looking to grow a beard similar to yours. So far I’ve only been trimming the bottom to keep it even. I was wondering if I should get it shaped up. Particularly the rear jaw corner. Im not sure if it is necessary or not if I’m growing longer I’m unsure at the moment because I’m at a length where it’s kind of not a super long beard like I see some guys rocking but it’s also far from a neckline beard. Did you get any shape ups along the way and if you did, looking back do you think they were necessary. Please let me know 👍🏻👍🏻🎩

Hey, thanks for your kind words.
Your beard looks great if that's it in your profile picture. Just keep doing what you are doing. It's easier to shape when it's huge. I get the end trimmed every 6 weeks or so but more to keep an even shape.

Thanks bud. I’ll just keep on growing without a trim for another 6 months or so to get More beard 👍🏻 actually that’s an old pic I should update it really 😁👍🏻

Sadly, I can’t grow beard or moustache, because when I was younger, I said to myself when I’m an old man, I’m gonna grow a really long wizard beard and dress like a wizard 🧙🏻‍♂️

I eat like shit, drink way to much caffeine with little water. Hardly use beard oils.
But my beard gross way to fast.
I'm of Armenian decent so I have more hair then most men.
Wish I can transfer some of this growth to men that struggle with it.

1- throw away scissors, razors and shavers.
2- beard oil and beard butter help a lot
3- leave it alone, pet your dog not your beard
    Your beard looks very good?

How do you grow a real long beard?
    A simple THREE word answer:
    *JUST.*
    *DON'T.*
    *SHAVE...*

What about people staring looking at you judging you making faces even while driving showing you hand gestures towards your beard I could never understand when they show you hand gestures towards your beard that’s a compliment or complaint, why I am telling I had very thick long beard but due to people reactions towards my beard I shaved then after two years continuously shaving I again grow my beard back it is thick strong and again long, without caring about people who the hell are they to tell me what I have to do or what I have not to do, but I think whatever reaction I observed from people when I was or again now when again I have full thick beard may be related to my race I am brown skin an Asian male with black beard that may be a pain in ass for some racist idiots otherwise I don’t think anywhere in world any devil or evil racist should have a problem with somebody’s personal appearance, by the way all or mostly heinous crime committers are clean shaven😂

Ok Just cut it off! I don’t uunderstand why someone would purposely want to look like shit. No one is ever going to say a long beard looks nice. Just cut it off and it will look so much better and won’t be in your way as well as your food and a woman will enjoy your face more.
