Good hammock design Ray. I have a Warbonnet Warbonnet XLC hammock and modified it to setup on the ground with 550-cord loops. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Ray!
I have looked at these hammocks and think they would be extremely comfortable. I do a lot of Jeep camping so the weight would not be an issue. I want the warbonnet ridgerunner for back packing trips. Have you seen the Amok Draumr UL Hammock? Jon at Lost Lakes uses them and they look comfortable as well. Thanks Ray for the setup demonstration.
i bought a haven, they have great customer service but it was one of my worst purchased camping gadgets.your results may vary as i did not have the safari . . anyone who has slept on an air mattress knows that it loses at least some air pressure in the night, creating a V. this is compounded in a hammok and the shoulder squeeze you wake up to is equally compounded; at least in the wide model. on mine the build quality was not great with random droplets of glue on the fabric as well as missed/sloppy stitches sprinkled around more than i would have liked. i used the warranty on the mattress and poles upon arrival due to defects. honestly, the real killer is the sockets you put the poles in because they wore out within a dozen or so uses. your results may vary as i did not have the safari .
Yeah it sounds like that was a recurring issue with some of their mats. I didn’t see it so much with the safari so that was part of my draw to it. I did though notice they’ve also released a new mat that is supposed to stay flat and not curl. I have a friend who has ordered it so I’m curious to hear how he likes it. I haven’t seen any issues with the stitching and stuff on this one but perhaps they do a bit more on these since the material is so much thicker.
The reliability issues of the original Haven Insulated pad have supposedly been resolved with the 2024 True Level XL pad. They also made the spreader bar pockets more robust and added double zippers and a lounge strap on the Haven XL. I've spent 50+ night in it so far and no issues with either the pad or the hammock.

Yeah that’s mainly when I plan to use this…..truck camping. I have seen those before but never had a chance to try one out. They do look comfy.
