- In this episode I continue the restoration of what I believe to be a 1960 U.S. Molded Shapes, Inc. 16' home built boat by repairing the hull interior with fibeglass mat and epoxy resin.

Tools and Materials Used:
Makita 1-1/8 in. x 21 in. Belt Sander
DeWalt 5 in. Random Orbital Hook and Loop Sander
TotalBoat Epoxy Resin traditional
TotalBoat Milled Glass Fiber
Will those patches be visible in the finished product?
No. I will fair them in further to form a smooth surface then cover with paint, inside and out.
3M makes a premium marine filler with fiberglass strands in it (red label instead of the green label) … could that be used instead ???
I try not to use any filler brand unless it is used to fair small voids or scratches. I wanted to make these patches strong and durable while spreading the load over a wide area. Maybe an overkill but I feel good about it.
