    I bought this book yesterday. I still do not study medicine, but it's a good one. Thanks for the review.

    All professional anatomical texts and diagrams assume the “anatomical position” so you never get confused what is left or right. It’s basically if you were to stand normally except your palms face forward. This is why hand anatomy refers to the knuckle side of the hand as “dorsal” (backside).

    Does this book cover the eyes at all? Like the anatomy of the eye, the functions, how they transmit information to the brain, rods and cones, that sort of stuff?

    Hello, thanks for the amazing video! I bought the same version of this book (from 2010) but I saw that there is a 2018 version... Do you know if the newest version has any changes? Or am I mistaken and the latest version is the same from 2010?

    • @FoolishFishBooks

      I don't know for sure, but this is the version that is in the public domain. It would mostly likely not be changed.

    Thank you for an insightful look at this book. Not a medical student here (I WISH I was that smart), but an artist with a particular interest in anatomy. I was curious to buy this mainly for the illustrations. Do you think it’s worth it just for that?

    • @FoolishFishBooks
      @FoolishFishBooks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In truth, at this price point, and for such a gorgeous book, you could do worse than find out for yourself 😄
      You'll never regret having the book on your shelf, if that's what you're worrying about 😜
      Personally, the images have given me a great insight into how the different bits fit together, and yes, actually, I should think that having that in the back of your mind as you draw can have a positive influence on an artist's human forms.
      Good luck! The world needs you artist people so badly! 💜

      Foolish Fish Thank you for your comment!! You’ve absolutely convinced me, and the price for this in Amazon is great! Can’t wait for it to arrive now ☺️

      No one is actually dumb to be in a medical course, it's mostly about how you process facts well and keep them in your head for long. It's very much to do with a lot of revisions of the same things, so that they stick to our puny minds! But yes, you do need a lot of passion for the subjects, as it is a very vast course and hence, very very overwhelming. You could easily go off course....

      Same here, I am an artist as well and just absolutely love drawings of human anatomy since it is a massive challenge to draw accurately as well as educational. Any art student knows just how much their teachers stressed drawing anatomical copies from da Vinci or Michelangelo.

      This is a very old edition of Gray’s Anatomy, so no one should really use it for studying. There are new editions, although Gray’s Anatomy is on med school level. I’m sorry, I don’t know any good high school level ones although they should exist.

  • @ssrm67

    The Gray's Anatomy for Students is a separate book. The original book still remains as Gray's Anatomy.

      I hate the new coloured illustrations!!! I was gonna buy the students edition until I saw they were colored and animated and it was very childish to me.. I wanted to feel the history and originality while studying the book... so I just took my uncles 35th edition and stuck to it...
