    I hope you can keep us updated on Gaby's. As a US citizen it really bothers me that I see a tendency from some of my fellow citizens to go to a different country and then expect it to change its ways for THEM.
    And to these particular gringo condo owners (I've read elsewhere that they are a US couple, retirees) showing disrespect to PV culture by going after Gaby's: If ya can't stand the music, get out of Vallarta.....

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It bothers us a lot honestly!!! People complain SO MUCH in Toronto that it’s the way people connect with each other vs talking about positive things they have in common - it’s become part of the culture. Complainers is very triggering for us 😕

    Hola Kathleen, Marco & Familia. I love you and your channel. 🥰
    I live in Mazatlán, have been here since 1990. Have had residency for several years. I live in the gold/tourist zone. I have lived through razor vehicles blasting música outside my door all day, all night(for years), Banda outside my house playing all night, Semana Santa (6 bandas playing at once), Carnivals blah, blah, blah. The Banda & Razors only have been around since 2010ish. Whatever, wouldn’t change it for anything. Love it! Change is good and all the National tourists that are here now love it. The gringos and Canadians aren’t driving up the prices, it’s the Nationals. At least here in Mazatlán. So give them what they want.
    Ps…little info re: myself, I’m Canadian, 50ish and have Bose ear plugs. lol
    Good Vibes Only 😘

    Yes, Pipis! We have visited P.V. nine times in the last 21 years. We have never eaten at Gaby's but have walked past the restaraunt a few times. I hope Gaby's get a good attorney and make these "manzana malas" go away. Congratulations on your new endeavor in the real estate world Marco. Great name, same as my brother.

    I live in Nashville and in my neighborhood a woman bought a house next door to a meat market/BBQ restaurant. Now she is suing the restaurant claiming they are standing in the way of the quiet enjoyment of her property. The market has been there for years and clearly she knew what was next door to her home when she bought the house. I don’t understand the entitlement of some people.

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We don’t get it either 🤷🏻‍♂️ basically the exact same situation as here, from what I heard the residents of the condo are suing their agent because the restaurant next door was not disclosed!?!!!!

      I recently saw a video on YT about an area in Texas that was empty, except for this drag strip where cars would come and race. Well, the area grew and houses started to be built closer and closer to the track, even though the track was "grandfathered" in. And you can probably already guess what I'm about to say! People started complaining about the noise! The track had been there for YEARS, by itself, away from people and neighborhoods because it WAS a track that had loud cars. But people moved around it and now they want it gone

    Gaby's was one of the first sit down restaurants I visited almost 6 years ago for breakfast. The owner served me. The food was excellent and he offered me some of his home made tequila. It was 10:30 in the morning. I thought, what a country.

      @Morelifediaries  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Amazing story! Love it and love that so many people have so many similar stories from small businesses in the area. Small business are rapidly vanishing from Canada and some people don’t appreciate them and support them nearly as much as they should!

    Mexico loves music and in general it's a loud country, full of festivals and culture. Why would someone be so arrogant as to think the country needs to adapt to them instead of the other way around? This restaurant was in place before these people moved in.

    It’s a shame that the restaurant is going through this because someone did not do their research or bought on a first visit🙁. I am not a fan of loud noise at night but I take earplugs when I go there because I am familiar with the culture in Mexico! People need to relax or stay home, or as you suggest, find a quiet community. Love the logo Marco, congrats on the new adventure!

    Go up to any tree in Puerto Vallarta ..... shake it .... 20 Realtors fall out . I think out of every 15 gringos in town y, ou will find one of them is a Real estate agent .

    Much success to you Marc! Great video! My hubby and I were in Mazatlan at the time of the Protest. Kinda crazy that the hotel did that. It is automatically a "gringo" but not sure that is how it went about. Either way, they all think it's a gringo, so I suppose we just have to get through that! We don't live (vacation) in the tourist area so we don't really hear much. Long live Banda! 😊

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much 😊Must have been quite the sight and experience 😳 for us it’s not so much about the Banda but more so about trying to attack small business owners and individuals trying to make a living. The reason they’re there is because there’s a demand. I can think of so many quiet beaches or locations here in PV but if people choose to live and frequent the busiest loudest places and complain about it 🤦🏻‍♂️

    people from the US and Canada need to realize Mexico is a freer country, the people LIKE their freedom, it's not your place to wish to impose extra laws on people. If you want to live in a police state where cops arrest or fine people for every little thing than go back home!

    Laws laws and more laws. Well, this is not the first time that citizens or companies from our northern neighbors have attempted to change the laws. They have been actually successful at doing that. I give you an example. You see in Mexico up to 80"s all movies made in English weren't dubbed to Spanish (the only exceptions were the kids movies). Back then believe or not most Mexicans like the movies with the original sound even when they had to read subtitles.
    In an attempt to sale more movie tickets, US film companies thought that by dubbing the movies in Spanish, they would draw more people to the movie theaters. Well, they actually sued the MX government and the case made it all the way to the MX supreme court, where they argued that by having most of movies in English was discriminatory against people with visual disabilities as they couldn't read subtitles. So the supreme court ruled in favor of (I think was) Fox. So now in Mexico, you got movies dubbed in Spanish where most of the Mexicans want the original sound.
    By the way, the public beaches policy and the 30 km from the beach ownership by foreigners came as results of the ruling of the supreme court or change in laws in the MX congress in responds to acts by foreigners. So not the first and it will not be the last.
    About banda, to me banda music is very loud. I can probably stand a few minutes and depends on the songs but I can understand the loudness complaint in the beaches of Mazatlan at the same time I also understand the banda musicians since it is originated from the state of Sinaloa where Mazatlan is located. I think some rules regarding banda music are needed. Also, in terms of banda music, I think that your side of the woods (Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco and other states) is just influenced by banda more but I don't think you will find as many of them in the Yucatan peninsula. About the restaurant in PV, I hope the restaurant wins. Why would you buy a place next to a loud restaurant??? Anyway

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for sharing and watching 🙌🏼 It’s very confusing why people would buy a property in the busiest & loudest part of town expecting peace and quiet 🙈

  • @MonkeyChenchaTheExoticPe-rw4kw

    I'm Mexican, but totally dislike banda music, it's very noisy. As far as gringos coming to live in Mexico, well they just make the economy stronger. So it's a win win situation. Gentrification happens in many places, some people lose others win, that's just life.

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When our old neighbourhood in Toronto was gentrified basically all small businesses were shut down and replaced by big corporate ones…and now? Many Canadians can’t afford to buy or rent in those neighbourhoods. Try to me is not a sign of a healthy economy 🤷🏻‍♂️
