I love how in the he always talks about how he's not a professional in the beginning before doing it better than anyone I've ever seen. (Unrelated) I own a 92 honda fourtrax 250x and I've done a lot to get more power but I was wondering if anyone has experience with those like $300 - $500 big bore conversion kits and if there any good?
Keep it stock. I've always said if you want more power, sell what you have and buy a bigger CC bike. Big bore kits are nice, but repairs are inevitable. Cheaper to purchase a bigger bike than spend the $ repairing old parts.
Tip on the case bolts, cover bolts, any kind of bolts like this: All the bolts have the same amount of thread engagement. If you have different lengths and you dont have a diagram, you will know you have it in the right hole, if every bolt sticks out the same amount. So for example, you put a bolt in and the head sticks out 1/2" or whatever, and the next hole you put a bolt in but it bottoms out or has 1" sticking out, you know thats the wrong one.

Hey Mike i was wondering if you could give me any advice about my kfx 450r, it's getting spark, fuel, and the timing marks are lined up but it still won't run. The only thing i haven't checked was compression but it only has around 10 hours on a fresh top end so i wouldn't think thats the issue. If you have any idea please let me know, thank you.
The KFX can be tricky in my experience. If you're popping/backfiring, I would double check your valve clearances. Otherwise I would go over all the wiring and if you have the luxury of a friend with one - try swapping CDI boxes and seeing if it starts. I would lean towards some sort of timing/electrical issue only because some of the early KFX450Rs had issues and even if it's a newer unit, you never know what was swapped unless you've had it since new. I hope this helps, and good luck!
@@MichaelSabo thanks Mike , turns out it was the valves, couldn't even get a .2 mm feeler gauge under one of the exhaust valves and the intake wasn't any better😂
I have a question, so everytime I try to start my bike it starts for like a second or 2, rattles, then it shuts off. The rattle comes from the bottom end but I'm not sure what it could be, would u by any chance have an idea of what it could be maybe? It's a 2004 yz250f
@@MichaelSabo all good brother. I don't think the 20yr old motor liked the 270 big bore lol, I've been trying to sell it but if I do it'll be hard to find another running bike with the money I get for it
Completely not impressed with all the plastic gears I've found in all my modern motocross, ATV, UTV and Harley Davidson engine rebuilds. I just repaired a 1995 John Deere 320. 20hp Kawasaki engine. It had a plastic cam gear that sheared off 80% of its teeth. Absolutely ridiculous. 👎
Never missed a beat with this one, 90 minutes of excellence.. and the joy of ripping her after a build, priceless..
You make awesome video’s!
Thank you!
Love too see you do a old school twin shock motor cross bike, Big old Air Cooled motor 🙏
these videos are never long enough. great content
Glad you enjoy them man!
I always kept the extra caterpillar assembly lube for putting their cams in it was some of the best lube I've ever found
Greetings from Indonesia🇮🇩
ngapain disini bro 😅
Greetings!

I appreciate that man - thank you and good luck with your 250
This is awesome. Wish I had this when you built the Polaris 500
Pure class as always 👏
Thank you man!

You're the man Mike! Great video! Excited to see more videos of you ripping the ktm.

The world of beauty and wisdom is awfully dramatic lmao I love the videos too but that's a bit much
Thank you for the quality content Mike!
Thank you for watching it man!
Another successful build Mike! You gotta get a 04-05 trx450r kicker next!!!! Then a comparison first to a stock 250r and then mod them!
That would be a cool comparison to do.
Great video Mike! Love the content you make!
Thank you man, glad you enjoy it!
Outstanding build series Mike. So talented!
I appreciate that man, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Mike you should build a ktm atv, that would be pretty cool. Great vid!
If I come across one of those I might build one. Thanks for the love!
Great video. Not to many tutorials out there for Sherco's. I would love to see you do a 2013 Sherco 300SEF rebuild please...
Sherco is a rare one, but rest assured if I get one, I will do a tutorial of the engine build.
You should show us what blew up on the old motor!

do a kdx200
Those plastic gears look like something from an RC car. Disappointing to find them in a KTM motor.
I was surprised too man - junk
One exhaust cam lever is wider because the auto decompression runs on that one.
Thank you for that info man!
Dude how do you get that Yamabond off your fingers? It stays on for like a year.
It does sometimes stay like paint. I use lacquer thinner which is really bad for your hands, but it does get it off.
please do the KTM 450 sx f

Man... that could be a lot of things. It's really hard to diagnose without seeing/hearing it in person. Wish I could be of more help.

what happened to the trx380?
Still have it, just haven't been making content with it.

It is surprising to find plastic in places you'd expect metal. Definitely cheap.
