    I lowsided this bike going pretty slow and it broke the swing arm spool/slider off so part of the bolt is still threaded inside the bike🤦🏼‍♂️. Bike is completely fine and I’m thinking about just installing a new set in the fwd holes.. would they still work fine a few inches forward?

    • @sportbiketrackgear

      You should be able to let the bike sit on the spools for as long as you like. Ours sit on the stands pretty much all of the time. Only exceptions being when they are in the trailer or being ridden. - Van

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, there are now certain swingarm designs that will require a spacer or step built into the spool to get the proper clearance needed. Several years back all that really mattered was the size of the hole threaded into the swingarm, that is no longer the case. - Brian Van

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The previous owner of my 2008 R1 had spools, dropped it on the left side and the M6 bolt from the spool is broken and effectively friction welded to the swing arm. Can I drill it out, run a helicoil and install a new spool?

    • @sportbiketrackgear

      Kelly Judd strange that a modern bike wouldn't be ready to accept spools. Have you looked into the ones that mount onto the axle or the ones that mount above and below the swingarm?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Why Honda would produce that bike with no boss for a spool in the swingarm is beyond me. To lift that bike you would need a rear stand that lifts the bike from the bottom of the swingarm using a pad design. I would suggest the Pit Bull SS Rear Stand which can be used as a pad or spooled rear stand without purchasing anything additional. This way you are covered if you purchase a new bike in the future that accepts spools in the swingarm. Below is a link to the stand from Pit Bull:
