We are now on the Transamerica Trail making our way west through Arkansas. At some points I question if I’m on the right trail or if I’m painting myself into a corner.
This is the first video of the TAT that I was on in 2023 that I've seen a video. The first creek had people swimming to the right and others filling barrels of water on the left while doing their laundry. I entered more to the left of your path and had that ledge I needed to get over. Then before Oark the trail basically vanished. Huge berms were pilled in the trail. I forged around and came upon a recently graded hill. The loose dirt allowed my front end to washout. I finally made it down to the wide creek where old topless hippies were hanging out. Until your video I thought I imagined everything
Definitely not Sam’s. We rode his a few years back and this is all new to me. We did stop at the cafe but came down off a mountain first that had some good riding.
Yeah, I did GPS Kevin’s “easy route” alone through Arkansas and it was a bit challenging with my bike handling skills. I think Sam could sell more if he just sold the entire package of GPX files in one bundle. In my research before the trip it appeared that Sam is selling each state separate and there was no coast to coast route for one price under one download.
You should get one of those woke Harley Davidson Pan American motorcycles and you would have been able to climb that little bitty incline. Smart to stop and check out that water crossing.
I have seen a couple Pan America’s on this trip but they are usually all on the road. I’d like to try one but I think I’d still spend my money on a different brand if I wanted something more capable on high speed road with better wind protection.
As far as the whole “woke” thing, I had to look that up. As you can imagine, I have been spending a lot of time in the woods on this trip and haven’t been keeping up with the recent political news which has been great to clear my mind.
Many roads like that in the Ozarks. Plan on riding the tat next year Sams route. Great video
