- Trev takes a walk around the beautiful Merrose Farm Caravan and Motorhome Club Site in South Cornwall.

Thanks for watching our videos. We include all things to do with motorhomes, caravans and the great outdoors. We mainly tour the UK and camp around 80 nights per year in our 2017 Swift Bolero. We offer advice, tips and tricks, review campsites and associated products or services. We also occasionally make videos about other trips we take without the motorhome.

We really enjoy grass in the summer. It’s nice to step out of the van on to with no matting or ground sheets. Winter camping is quite a different matter 🤣 Trev
Another great site for exploring Cornwall, we stayed there July 2017 hard standing pitch above the toilet block, the field you stayed only had a couple of caravans on it, loved St Mawes, Porthscatho, King Harry’s Ferry.

There are so many good sites that we couldn’t possibly do them all but we will do as many as we can. We have been staying longer on sites since lockdown as a way of remaining safe rather than moving to too many unknowns. I have no idea if this is the right strategy or not 🤷🏻♂️ 😃 thanks for watching 👍🏻🚐 Trev
What a charming campground. It’s very smart of them to have installed stoplights so that folks don’t get caught up in a traffic jam. The spaces are large enough that you can enjoy your campsite without feeling close to your neighbors. That dog park is amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that large in all of our travels. I was glad to see the sun had come out for one of your weekend trips too! Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a great site. It's great there's a place to walk pups. Always nice to be fairly close to a town too. Just in case you need something.
Thanks for watching. It was just far enough away to be peaceful but with in reach of shops by car. The little farm shop was walking distance but that only had a small selection of local and fresh items. 😄 Have a great weekend 👍🏻🚐 Trev
The Caravan and motor home club have recently been calling there sites " Camping Sites" but don't usually see tents!.. love Merrose farm.👍
Yes the CAMC are adopting a few new terms along with their new marketing blurb. I think they are trying to be modern and hip innit 😉🤣 Merrose Farm was a real highlight of the tour for us. Thank you John, yes we do have a lot of campsites in the UK that have dog walk areas. It’s to keep dogs away from children’s play areas and also encourage owners to pick up after their dogs. In the main it works well and I am sure it’s good for business to show that the campsite is pet friendly 😄👍🏻 Thanks for watching. 🚐 Trev

Good thing having lights as I bet it was hard work if a caravaner was coming the other way. Funny most parks out of the way have narrow lanes. Think they do it to test us.
It’s always pot luck with traffic these days. So many more vehicles on the roads of all shapes and sizes but the lanes don’t get any bigger. All in a day’s motorhoming 😃 Trev
That looked a very busy site but loved the traffic light system we will have a look at that one when we are down there next

It’s big but didn’t seem that way. Very quiet and well spaced pitches with lots of choice of trees, no trees, near the toilets or not, etc etc. 😃👍🏻 Trev

We were there in September too, a couple of pitches down from you next to the dog field.
Great site, location and surrounding area. The staff on site were a little less friendly particularly on arrival they seemed harassed... not great after a 6hr drive down.
That said met some lovely campers and even managed to get a meal at The Hidden Hut.

Oh great 👍🏻 we spoke to a few campers whilst at Merrose Farm. The wardens must have been fairly tired of all the new rules and explaining everything over and over again. I agree that the only thing I want after a long drive is a kind friendly welcome. We went down to the office to ask about something and they seemed quite helpful but as with most sites, sadly, communication and contact at the moment is minimal. Thanks so much for watching 😃 Trev

Looks a Cracking Place to Stay, is it all Grass Standing?, Be bit of a Issue I expect in Down Pos n Winter
There is a mix of grass and gravel so some of the grass will be closed in winter. We are on a site now where none of the grass pitches are open but all the gravel ones are available to use. We also know some entire campgrounds that close from October to April as it’s too wet. 😃🚐 Trev
