This song instantly takes me to a time where I didn't worry about money, current events, and the future for my children. This takes me back to my grandparents' computer room, sitting there slaying demons while my grandmother stares at me lovingly. I'd give anything to be able to have her look at me like that again.
Everybody in the world feels that way about something. "There's a piece of Maria, in every song that i sing. And the price of a memory, is the memory of the sorrow it brings." -- Mrs Potter's lullaby by Counting Crows. If u haven't heard, chk it out.
I think technology definitely plays a part because everything back then wasn't filtered there was no hd visual either there were more limitations plus it being a new IP they had to work with what they had and it pushed them to be creative
1996....got it when it was new and all the rage. Had a Compaq Presario with Windows 95 and monitor-mounted stereo speakers....friends came over and were hypnotized by the soundtrack and gameplay. Best days of my life, the only peeps in the PJ's with a PC setup for gaming at that time, which was well before the dedicated graphics card days.
For anyone who wants to know, the instruments used here are (from what I can hear): -Electro-Acoustic Guitar -Tiple (a 12-string acoustic guitar) -Tuba -Synthethizer -Bamboo Flute -Maracas -Quena -Oboe There's another instrument mixed in there for a couple of seconds, but it sounds so shortly I can't identify it.
I had no talent playing this game when I was a kid, I was more like into easier stuff (such as tekken and spyro). I had a talent tho, twas music. Now I'm a composer and producer. After 20+ years I still remind how beautiful and well-crafted this OST is.
Somehow, this version of the Tristram tune is even better than the Diablo 2 variation, though Diablo II (with LoD) was definitely the best game of the series. It's hard to put my finger on it, but I think it's because the instruments sound slightly softer, they give a bigger sense of dispair. Like, sitting at a campfire in the freezing cold, seeing the flames on the very last log of wood you had slowly die out. Something good lipping away, leaving you with nothing. In the Diablo II variation, the instruments sound slightly more edged and harsher. The sense of loosing something isn't there anymore, it's more a sense of already having nothing and just moving forward, not knowing if things will ever improve.
Took for granted all the incredible music in this game as a kid when I played it. It can't just be nostalgia right? Modern games for the most part are missing something.
Sorrowful be the Heart, Penitent One. Welcome to Albero, sanctuary to this humble brotherhood of the Kissers of Wounds. Few remain here who can still employ it, but Tirso is my name. There are few of us who still care for the sick and ailing. With devout kisses, we bless the wounds of those who seek our protection, thus both we and they remain at the mercy of the Miracle.
My dad said he played this game before i was around. he decribes it as a dungon crawler game٫ he said the dungon crawler genre is the type of game that the binding of isac is
I always wondered how the people from that town can be so close to that church, knowing the kind of creatires that lives in there... the moment I get close to that church in the night for the first time, I realize there was something odd and unsettling, I knew if I make a step inside of there, everything will change forever in me, yet still I put one foot in there and for a moment... when I close my eyes I saw the face of the Devil smiling at me I was scared but... I get to the church anyway, because the light is with me, I slay many demons, then... when I finally meet him, I fight like never before, I won, I destroyed the Devil itself, Light always wins
this is the best song in all diablo.
The intro is still the best for me which I mean the Menus lobby sound
True
this is one of the best song in all game.
I agree.
I made a beat from this song...MAD!

I felt that. Deep 🙏🏻

Tristram is in trouble and only you can help!
yap, me too...
You sadly can't get those moments back but you can always create them for someone else 👍🙏
Entering the town for the first time in 1996 as young teen I instanty knew I'm in for something that will stuck with me for my whole life.
I wish I could meet you.
I sense a soul, in search of answers...
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 😂
oh shoot
one of the best themes ever made
The Tristram theme. One of the most beloved of the series.
HOW is this song only 4 min and 50 seconds?!?
I swear time stopped and it felt like I just re-lived two years...
I can't do that here....Not in town....not in town...
My youth in a nutshell :D
"I do nott have a spell ready"
"Demons are concerned with ripping out your heart, not your signpost!"
I can't use this...Yet xD
I always loved this theme, cuz I could always imagine someone with an acoustic guitar actually sitting in town, playing this tune.
this song is so beautiful even on its own
well said
This song at 12 am hits so differently, remembering all those good times on this game
"Well! Whut ken I do fer 'ya!"
NOSTALGIA 99 LEVEL !!!
Stay a while and listen!
That other ale ain't no good since those stupid dogs...
Stay a while and loot things!! 😜
There is something about the 90's video games' music that makes it enchanting. It's probably because of the technology used at the time.
Less technology the more possibilities or so it seems
Id say its just good composing, has a harmonic minor kind of sound.
I think technology definitely plays a part because everything back then wasn't filtered there was no hd visual either there were more limitations plus it being a new IP they had to work with what they had and it pushed them to be creative
Excellent points! I agree that paradoxically, having less resources to create the music often lead to more innovative compositions.
"Greetings good master! Thank goodness you've returned".
legendary song will be hard to ever be topped by another sound track. The more I listen the more I realize how much care was put into this.
This song slaps harder than any other modern game
My favourite part is 4:00 and outwards, just so delicious sounds
0:44 2:29 2:58 and 4:00

The best soundtrack in the history of gaming
Agreed.
The most atmospheric music for the game - mystery, danger, gloom, journey.
tap tap tap tap tap tap...
thats the sound of Diablo 1 Tristram for me. the sound of player's rapid but sloooooooow footsteps.
"I cannot cast that here"
This is sooooo gooooood.
Thank you blizzard entertainment for creating this tune. :)

The most legendary song of gaming in all history and nothing can come it close of it period.
Man hearing this almost brings me to tears. I remember when diablo. 2 compared to ps2 and gens at the time was the most in depth RPG ever.
I SENSE A SOUL IN SEARCH OF ANSWERS

There's obviously many string instruments in there that you forgot, contrabass and cello it sounds like
Гениальный саундтрек. Диабло 1 навсегда в моём сердце.
I will forever be indebted to Matt Eulmen for the endless hours i hsve had this playing on my TV and in my head. Absolute masterpiece.
Te pone la piel de gallina está canción, como que sabes que se viene algo jodido en los calabozos y si que lo eres diablo 1 lo re jugué en el 2018 jaja inigualable...

This could legit have been a track off of My Arms Your Hearse. Much love for Diablo and Opeth
"Now where would I put that...?"
too much baggage too much too much baggage :D

+Kopaneček R i do! XD
Combined with the sound of items flipping in the air and landing on the ground (especially from item duping).
This song is Diablo itself
This is just a really fantastic piece of music… I bet the composer knew he was creating a bit of magic
Where it all began...
Ive always loved this track. So chill
Masterpiece! One of the best EVER !

"Stay awhile and listen."

This OST you can use in all RPG Games that always combine with them!
Bloody ice from cabal online often reminded me of this song. This is what feels like coming home from hell.

The queen theme of all town's theme in gaming history, simply unmatched. Like the Halls of the Blind poem.

Make my chest hurt with regret. Forge your punishment, and nail it deep.

I sense a soul in search of answers!
The best song in... Anything, this is it, this and Diablo 2 was the peak of humanity 😮
Rank1 theme this. rank2 theme metal gear solid ps1. This gives me a deep feeling of peace
Funny how a 30-minute soundtrack is better than a 2-hour soundtrack.

Masterpiece

It actually doesn't make sense, that this could be the goat of songs.
У меня нет готовых заклятий,
Вау,что я могу для вас сделать?
Timeless.
Thank you Matt for this soundtrack :)
The music for EVERY RPG.
